You can't really say "Go self-destruct Ravens, they make great insurance fraud ships!" because it really isn't true everywhere or all the time. In fact when certain ships dig into the "red zone" their pricing is only there for a matter of hours because people take notice and start doing exactly what you plan on doing. ~

Unfortunately I can't fly them, therefore I can't self destruct for the insurance. Mail me ingame and maybe we can work out a deal.

See, there's this feature whereby, if you take your faction ship to the Jita 4-4 Navy undock ramp, and then grab from any can you can reach, your ship automatically self-destructs. Only then will you get a profit from the insurance. This, incidentally, is why it's always so busy on the Jita 4-4 Navy undock. As for the profit; get battleships. The real money rolls when you max-insure faction ships and let them die! The glitch with these ships is that they're very powerful. If you're going to self-destruct it anyway, you can also take it to a lvl-4 mission with, THIS IS IMPORTANT, tech 1 drones to match your bandwithe. This will cost you like 40k isk, and will earn you more ISK by killing npc rats while your ship is dying. The deal goes like this: You fly into a mission with your hull + drones, you kill 3 or 4 ships before they kill you. Dying takes about as long as the self-destruct timer, but while you're self-destructing you can earn so much extra since the powerful factionships can do a lot of damage on the rats while they're getting killed. When you die you get both the mission bounties, and the full insurance payout, while you hardly spent any extra time! We all know, time well spent = money!

Any ship that sells for less than 70% of it's base value, using platinum insurance (costs 30% base value, pays out 100% base value). If you buy a ship for 1 million ISK less than 70% of its base price, platinum insure it, blow-it up, then you make 1 million ISK. Tier 3 tech 1 battleships are most popular (like the Rokh). You can look-up the base value here.

Taxesarebad	Posted - 2010.04.08 22:19:00 - [21] hi, this only works for industrials and freightors maxed out, so a full cargo hold ( cargo expanders included. depending on the item you make more money, reason is insurance pays 90% of whats in your hold but it mistakes every item for more than what it is, example, it gives you 5isk for tritanium. market value is around 2.6isk elsewhere.

Karadan Kaarwen	Posted - 2010.04.09 11:28:00 - [28] There's a new game mechanic which has just come out where any T2 BPC's destroyed with your ship will payout 100m per blueprint but ONLY if they completely fill the cargohold of a T2 ship. I suggest getting a marauder, filling it with T2 BPC's (should take roughly 100m BPC's to fill) then self-destructing. You'll automatically be the richest person in Eve.
