So I finally got off my butt and installed the win7 copy I have had lying around for 2 months. Everything runs great, EVE looks good, etc. Only problem is that my res choices in windowed mode are very limited in comparision to fullscreen. Any reason why?
I have latest drivers and all updated, etc. Running: Nvidia 8800gt core i7 2.6ghz win7 pro x64
I currently only get three resolution options for eve in windows mode, 1680x1050, 1920x1080, 1920x1200.
I have googled for this but either its a rare thing or more likely, my google-fu fails me. -------------- ~Admiral, Commanding Officer Sturmgrenadier, Inc. Join Sturmgrenadier today! |

Edited by: Zelkath on 11/04/2010 23:33:01 I've hade the same problem. You can get around it by doing the following: 1. Switch to fullscreen mode. 2. Change resolution to what you want in windowed mode, apply and confirm that resolution. 3. Change to windowed mode, reselect the resolution you want in windowed mode again or it will be the same as maximum for fullscreen. Sometimes you get full selection of resolutions in windowed mode after doing this, but by then it is to late :P

Odd, I had the same problem but it went away after I updated my Nvidia drivers. Now I have a large selection of resolutions to pick from.
Looking at your specs it's similar to mine. 9800 Gt and Win7 Pro x64.
I doubt the above helps you any since you already typed that you updated your drivers. I hope you find a fix.

this bothers me too, as i have 2 monitors with different resolutions(1920x1200, 1360x768). and the only resolutions i have available are the same as chronosphere has.. so when juggling alts it is really anoying to have to go fullscreen then change resolution, then back to windowed only to move it over to the small monitor. and then do it all again if i want another char on the small monitor.
i added several resolutions in the nvidia control panel . but eve only seems to pickup 2 of these. 1360x768 and 1440x900. i added 1024x768 and others. but it seems only some of the widescreen resolutions are picked up by eve..
and yes, I have seen the thread about hex editing to get custom resolutions. and no, this is not an option i will consider.

I had this sort of issue when I had clients set to use the 2nd head of my video card, when I set my display adapter to my primary display (no matter which screen I actually run the client on) I get a full list of resolutions.
Unlike XP64, under 7 I don't get any frame rate drop from mixing clients around to different screens, so I just leave them all set to the main.
