Guys,
Been searching all over the place for a simple calc that basically allows you to input your effective HP etc that you can obtain from EFT, punch in the rats dps and how many that you encounter, punch in your dps and it'll tell you if you will survive that encounter or not, by either killing the rats quick enough or if your tank doesn't hold up.
is there anything like this available? cause i'm coming up blank thus far.
Thanks in advance

I would guess that there isnt something like that available as there are too many factors that could affect the result.
What distance the rats are from you What speed you are moving at What direction you are moving in
I hope you find or someone can tell you what you need.

EVE-Survival gives a pretty good idea of what to expect, never leave the house without it

Thanks guys. I planned to create a basic excel sheet to at least give me an idea. Eve survival does tell you ship types but nothing to do with fits.
I'll see what i come up with

A faster way to find out if you have enough tank is to take your ship into the mission and see if it blows up or not :) [Aussie players: join channels ANZAC or AUSSIES] |

Never been there in the first place.

Try it without reading the manual everytime you undock. L4's is a no-brainer to begin with. I run them in a rifter.

I don¦t think a spreadsheet will help in this case, as there are much too many "randoms".
When entering a mission (assuming it¦s always the same), there are some rats (assuming it¦s always the same number and types) but after that random takes at least "some" place.
The velocity you are moving. The velocity rats are moving. Direction you are moving. Direction rats are moving. Transversal you have in relation to the rats. Transversal rats have in relation to you.
All these may change a bit every time, and after killing the first rat (is it always the same?) it goes even more "random".
As others told you best way to go is looking up eve survival if you can tank the mission. Than go with a overtanked ship. When mission was done easy you will know for the second time, that you can change tank for gank. If you were struggling, congratulate yourself for overtanking.
Experiance will tell you more than any spreadsheet will, i¦m sure there is no maths telling you how to do the mission, experiance WILL.
My two cents.

A spreadsheet that takes into account whether you can speed tank a mission or not, will start becoming more complicated than simply logging in to Singularity to have a bash at the mission in a few different ships.
As trivial as losing any ship is on Tranquility, with Singularity you can practically ignore the loss. [Aussie players: join channels ANZAC or AUSSIES] |

Using sisi for this seems to be too much "paranoia", never done a mission on sisi.
My "maths" for L4¦s when starting, was reading eve survival, make sure to be fitted correctly for damage dealt, and look up to deal the right damage. I always kill the scrambling frigs first. Never lost a ship to the rats, anyway lost it to gankers, but i suppose you can¦t test this on sisi.
