We all know someone with a story of being hacked, their assets liquidated in some horrifying scheme leaving them without dignity of pants.
So I put this question to you: What would you do with 0 ISK?
Keep the same skills you have now. You log on corpless and in the station that your jump clone was set to. You have no implants, nothing on the market, nothing in the wallet, nothing in the assets tabs. How do you make it all back?
(For those of you lucky enough to have ships stationed at a POS, it's fair to keep if the the one who cleaned you out wouldn't know about it, so if you usually log off there, consider it gone. Same goes for research agents.)

Get in a noob ship, strip the fit, destroy it, get another and fit dual guns. Go to belt and rat my ass off and upgrade my ship as I go.

Go to jita and spam local that I will send double the money back for any isk sent to me.
or
Start doing level one missions in my noob ship and work my way back into the cash.
or
Start a new char and go through the tutorial and make money until I can buy a mining ship for my main.

Edited by: Marko Riva on 22/04/2010 00:32:43 Do the career tutorial missions, get a few mil, some ships and ultimately a destroyer. Chain lvl 1's with the dessy and work your way up. When you start doing lvl 3's with a drake rename your old Caracal to CN caracal and scam someone with it. Invest all cash into trading. Join a 0.0 alliance and start ratting in upgraded systems.
There's more ways ofcourse.

Considering my current skills and what I know about the game now my schedule would probably look like this:
Rat (newbie ship) > mine > RAT/MISSIONS > market > MARKET > MARKET > ??? + setting passive (and slower) isk income sources back up again > back-to-where-I-started.
It would be fairly fast, specially considering how much isk I let go in the past few months just because I just didn't feel like logging-in much anymore (in fact canceled recently.)
PS: Reduce time by half per additional account I could use. __________

Even if somebody did clean out my research agents and all LP from all corps and all assets and all ships, and for some obscure reason I wouldn't want to sell a PLEX nor borrow ISK from anybody (both would be trivial to arrange), then all I'd have to do is wait a short while to make more datacores for seed money, then buy an industrial to run some L3 couriers, then with that seed money restart trading, probably buy a Drake a bit later on to speed-run L3s while I remote-trade when online, and soon enough I'd have more than enough ISK to keep making more from trade only.

I guess I'd peel a few billion from one of my unhacked accounts and pass it off as a little bad luck.
Plenty of ways to go broke in this game and hax is only one of them.

If I had been hacked and left with nothing, I would have petitioned the case and waited untill CCP had done their investigation and completed the case - which would lead to a reimbursement. Because with 0 isk you cant do much except start earning isk with a newbie ship.

You only need to repackage and reassemble noobship. Voila - new pair of guns. You only need to replace mined with a spare gun from hangar.
P.S. I've started from zero at least six times. Wouldn't be an issue to do it yet another time. Also, i'm pretty certain my skills will be with me, or will be reimbursed if not, so it wouldn't be so much of a loss anyway. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

Post-Incarna, I would beg for ISK in the corridors of a station, then spend it all on alcohol, and regale everyone in the bar with drunken stories of my glory days and the bastard that took it all away. -
