In the last days I've been experiencing a serious issue with EVE.
At random moments of the game, the screen just goes black and starts displaying "No signal" as if the HDMI cable had been disconnected from it. I can't do anything to bring it back except hard-reset the computer, which is obviously harmful if done frequently.
At first I thought it was something related to alt+tabbing so I followed the instructions in the Known Issues page (Even though it was a problem with alt+tabbing IN and not OUT of the game). and ran as administrator. Curiously it took a lot less time for the screen to black out this time (Less than 5 minutes, while the others, while kind of random, took at least 20+ mins to happen), without alt+tabbing once. This has happened both in and out of station, although more when I was docked.
Also noticed that when this happens something in my cabinet stops working for a while (I can clearly hear the fan of either the GPU or the CPU slowing down drastically before coming back)
During the first three times I thought it could be something with the computer, but after days playing a lot of other stuff, from very low to very high CPU and GPU demanding games (From League of Legends to Battlefield 3) for hours and hours I didn't have this problem once. I just have to start playing EVE for it to happen between 5 minutes to 2 hours of gameplay. It has happened 6 times so far.
Is there anything I can do? Has this happened before? |

Not the case. GPU temp barely jumps beyond 50-ŚC, fan works at 45%
Battlefield 3 makes it go up to 60-70-ŚC and fan up to 60% and never happened (And I've been playing since release date)
Also it happened 3 times after alt tabbing, 4 times (Last one was 1 hour ago) without alt tabbing. I was just sitting at the station, went AFK for 2 mins and when I returned, got the black screen.
Only started to happen after last update. |

What GPU / drivers are you using? I was running a GTX 680 with the latest WHQL driver and have been getting intermittent video driver crashes (screen goes black for a few seconds, then comes back with heinously low framerates). My first thought was "great, I got a DOA 680," but I've noticed that it only ever seems to happen in EVE. SC2, BF3, LoL, and even FurMark are no problem at all, but when I load up EVE I get periodic driver crashes. It's happened 4-5 times in the week since I got the card, always when playing EVE. Odd. |

I'm using a GTX 580 with drivers updated as well. The only thing is my screen doesn't even come back.

Well, after a long time, I think EVE may not be responsible for it. Or maybe it is.
Here`s what happened:
A while after the seventh problem on EVE, I had this on other occasions. Loading screens, mainly and alt+tabbing to other games, mainly. Even LoL would crash on loading screen sometimes.
I started looking for solutions everywhere, using Skyrim as a quick way to check if it worked, because of all games, it was the one most surely crashing (It would take 5 seconds to 5 minutes of gameplay for Skyrim to crash into this). I suspected it was video problems, motherboard problems, CPU overheating... nothing (At least it seems).
Took it to a technical support and before showing him the crash he took the RAM memory for cleaning and put it again. Turning on the computer, everything worked just fine. Ran Skyrim for 15 minutes with no problems. Ran Battlefield 3 for 10 minutes and no problems. Ran Battlefield 3 AND Skyrim at the same time for another 10 and nothing.
We thought the problem was solved - RAM memory must have had bad contact or something like that.
Brought the computer back home and played it normally (Other games) for a lot of time, sure that the problem was fixed.
Then I felt like playing EVE.
The problem came back after the first jump, 5 minutes later.
I don't know what else to do.
Evidence isn't conclusive, but my guess is that EVE somehow messes with my RAM memory (?) and I have to reset it to bring it back to normal... ? |

Sorry to rehash an old thread - but I'm having this issue too. I have no problems in BF3, etc. But EVE forces me to have interimittent black screens for 2-4 seconds, then it comes back without issue.
Any official word from EVE/nVidia? |
