At least I know one other person is older than me, LOL!
My math says 5 (not 4 as stated in the blog) females are running: Me, Mazz, greymouse, Issler, and Ankh. Unless CCP knows something I don't.
Also, they have my alliance listed incorrectly but hopefully this will be fixed soon in response to the email I just sent.

14 former CSMs running, 9 spots and 5 alts, plus a couple people who aren't former members but have a good shot at winning. There's going to be a few very disappointed folks a month from now.

This is about the only guaranteed thing!
Good luck to the candidates and try not to promise stuff which you don't have a hope of getting implemented

ôIt takes 5 small things to make a disaster.ö
Eve is an amazing experience, that you make by your every 'little' day-to-day action. Big new features are great, but everyday gameplay could use some real tightening. From the UI to Travel; from Contracts to Jump Clones; from Missions to PvP, and Mining even... Fix the Little Things First! Tighten everyday gameplay, improve flow and efficiency, polish those previously released 'big' features... strengthen the foundation of Eve!
It's said that it only takes 5 small things to make a disaster. Those 5 seemingly little things that all worked together to make your op go south, to annoy you, to bore you to death... ruin your day of playing a game. Before you know it then, by fixing just a few little things, a synergy emerges that vastly improves the way you enjoy EVE. I'm the man to help you enjoy EVE.
We all have that one little thing that we'd really like to improve/change/fix. Something that you keep thinking, "Man, wouldn't it be nice if they..." but you never tell anyone. Tell me. I'm the man to get that little thing done.

To CCP: I heard good stuff from people regarding the CSM and I also heard bad stuff from people about the CSM.
True I didn't look like mad if other people have the same thoughts on the CSM as I do but here they are and I hope this will help both parties (CSM and CCP).
My opinion is neither good or bad, just utterly confused. I think the CSM should be a bit more than 6 months (last update I got) because of the simple fact that the CSM could at least live more than a life of an Eve Expansion. Will this be a good thing or not ?
Well let say with their meeting minutes, over time their decision influenced enough (or help ?) the next expansion. What if people don't like it let say. Well since their term is 6 months, I don't believe my voice will be heard because of the length of their term. But if its more than 6 months, I will probably have more chance of being heard.
Why not enough time to being heard. Well its simple, CCP like all other company will react and start being active to opinions and feedback of their players. The more players that reacts the more they will hear about the problem. In that effect, give people a bit more time and they will be enough... strength. But what does that have to do with the length.
When CSM gives out an idea to CCP and you react positively you get heard. But theres a chance that the next CSM group wont like that and trow it in the garbage. Thus more time will give me more chance of getting heard.
If you lives through this reading...congratulations

Untrue! Some of us will always be pirates at heart (even if we're doing other things in-game at the moment). I urge you to select a candidate based on the issues they support that affect you as a pirate, rather than simply not voting because you don't see a self-proclaimed exclusively "pro pirate" candidate.
Yarr, baby.

Very interesting to see the field. I would have thought there would be fewer candidates this round. A year term is a much greater commitment and no FanFest this year ether.
Interesting times, good luck to everyone.

It's a good thing those term limits were removed, otherwise this might have been the thinnest list of candidates yet. I wonder what that says about the general feeling amongst the playerbase of how relevant and effective the CSM is these days?

If I can voice my opinion on this, I think its a bad thing that the term limits have been lifted. After all there are 14 former CSM running and I don't think new people stand much of a chance.
The CSM has also received a lot more influence now that they're stakeholder in the scrum process. But to what extent that will actually help, remains to be seen. If CCP has its mind on something, say, the next expansion that has to be rushed out of the door, like they always are, then it won't do much good to ask for changes to other mechanics which are not part of the scope they are currently working on.
And this is the main problem with EVE in my opinion. Expansions are rushed out of the door too fast, without any time to fix them up properly, because the next expansion is already on its way. Thats why I'm also somewhat doubtful if the scrum influence is going to accomplish anything, because everyone will be busy anyway. ---

What is this? Herschel, why are you not a candidate? I still consider you as the perfect CSM member: active, thoughtful, articulate, fair and cooperative. (however, I do disagree with you on too many issues, so I still would've voted for Issler ;) ).

I wish each candidate well in their upcoming campaigns.
I'd be very interested in knowing if a candidate has a position on fansite / CCP relations, especially regarding the evolution of EVE Gate.
If you are a CSM candidate and have a thought about this, I'd be interested in hearing it over at the BattleClinic EVE forum.

You think it is a bad thing but after having already served 2 terms and 2 more via proxy you are running again anyway. If you disagree so strongly why support the decision?
Originally by: Ankhesentapemkah The CSM has also received a lot more influence now that they're stakeholder in the scrum process.
