Edited by: Duva08 on 25/04/2010 03:03:37 Claw i know the auction is very soon but if someone has forgot to sign up by the date is it possible to send it before the auction in order to take part? Reason being is that the last auction didn't even take place due to lack of numbers and i know at least one alliance that would like to take place but forgot to sign up.
Just thought in the spirit of it all that it would be a possibility. Thank you

the auction is not being run due to fewer than 16 teams entering for it.
i would hazard a guess that at this stage you are almost better off not paying for the "guaranteed" slot as i dont think there are even enough teams registered to fill the original 32 random draw slots let alone an aditional 8 (from the originaly guaranteed slots)

Where is this rumor that there aren't enough teams signed up to fill the 32 slots?
I find that very hard to believe as every year there have been far more signups than slots available.

There was no rumour Enzee, that's just what Maj'k thinks about the situation. I would strongly disagree with him that there won't be 32 teams applying, the auction was a first-time thing and as such many people were put off by the idea they wouldn't be able to afford a slot, so they didn't enter. There's no lack of interest, just lack of faith in people to afford a slot or fork the isk out.
I'm very confident the auto-slots will be heavily over-subscribed.

I could write a whole lot of stuff on this topic - I was actually opposed to moving from 32 > 64 teams in the first place because I actually never thought that we would fill 64, but of course it was a good idea because we also have more than 32 teams that really want to get a shot at this every time. In AT6 when we had 110~ teams signed up, by the time you stripped out the alts, the ones that pulled out, the ones that never paid the signup fee, and so on, we were down to only something like 70 teams anyway. Eve is a big place, but 64 is still a very big number. I said the same to the CSM when we met, that I would not be surprised that if we removed alt alliances we don't fill 64 spots. But that would be ok.

out of curiosity, if it were 32 teams would it be possible to reinstate the "divisions" from at 5? because those were p cool in my opinion

There aren't 32 teams so it wont happen, but yes, I am not a big fan of the current system but it is the best we can do in a) the schedule that we have available with b) the number of teams we try to fit in.
Edit: One day I should really host like, "talk about the alliance tournament on IRC" night. There are always such great discussions at Fanfest and such.
