Edited by: ShadowFire15 on 30/04/2010 18:05:06 I've been flying a drake for an extremely long time but it gets the job done. But I've been looking at battleships to get some experience in those and I was wondering, should I trade in my drake to get a scorpion navy issue?
I know people say they both can tank a lot, but I was wonder about the difference in dps. I can use tech 2 heavy missiles for the drake. But I only have cruise missiles skill up to 4. Can the SNI still provide more dps than the drake with those levels?
BTW, i know i can get a raven for dps, but i just really want the scorpion navy issue.

SNI Does quite well.

Check that fit, seems quite solid. The raven would be a cheaper slightly weaker alternative, and the Golem would probably be your next mission upgrade over the SNI if you choose to do so.

If you're that used to a Drake look at a Nighthawk. As far as I'm concerned it's the best direct upgrade and really doesn't take that long to train for.
As a bonus you'll pick up the best L2 runner in the game along the way for when you randomly switch corps/factions.
But then again the Scorp will look pretty good in a few weeks. Not NH-level good, not Rattler-level good, but pretty good. So it's your call.

Didn't the Tengu beat up the Nighthawk and take its stuff? (Easier to train for also, and same weapon skills)

There's no reason not to get a SNI if you want it and can afford it. Flying the ships you want to fly is a reason to play the game.
However, realize that it will be slower than a CNR.

Yes. I'm just still in denial .
If I were to finally train for a Tengu (8 days to all L4; 26.5 mil ISK in books) and use the same gear I have on my NH.... Yeah, it would go (marginally) faster on missions. But it also wouldn't be a red on black Ferox of Doom. And it would cost something awful. And I couldn't use my ridiculous drone skills.
Oh, and there's really something to be said for the NH's explosion velocity bonus that doesn't often get the attention it should.
But yes, as above, to maximize in PvE (except L5s) a Tengu is probably the better choice.
