My current headphones from IT Works, have taken a real bashing over the last few months so I could do with a new set. I use them for pretty much everything from music, DVD's to gaming etc.
Looking for recommendations please.

I've been very impressed with my Plantronics 777s, very comfortable for extended use, great sound quality both inbound and outbound, and can be used both as usb and through your soundcard.

Check out the Creative Fatal1ty headset(s)
I Have a pair of these (These if you're in the UK Like me)
They're undeniably comfy and they've all but replaced my Speakers outright. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I just got a Logitech G330 myself, Newegg had a rebate. Significantly cheaper than the G35 and still works for my needs, like when I just want the headset around my neck for the mic and use my speakers. Comes with a 3.5mm jack and a USB adapter. I always go USB for headsets now, just so much easier. -------------------------------- CCP can patch away bugs, but they can't patch away stupidity. |

That's what I'm using actually. Best bang for my buck, and they've been working for well over a year which is better than all of my previous headsets. They've also taken quite a beating and they still work perfectly. ----------

SteelSeries 5H V2.
For gaming they're superb, extremely comfortable even for prolonged periods, music playback is not so good but unless you're a complete audiophile good enough.
I've used headsets from most of the manufacturers mentioned here and the SteelSeries headset is the best I've had for gaming and comfort to date, if you do want better audio playback then Sennheiser is probably the way to go.
Neither are cheap though.

I just bought a pair or earphones (yes I know they aren't headphones but there is a point to this) and the quality was superb. The price gave me a sickening feeling but I am cheap like that but after listening to my tunes through them they were well worth it and worth a lot more imo. I'll certainly be getting a Sennheiser headset to go with my next computer.

Those are awesome too, mine developed some static issues (likely from me repeatedly running over the cord with my office chair), which is the only reason I replaced them with the Sennheisers, as a new set of 5H wasn't in stock at the time.

The Sennheiser PC 350 is my top pick when it comes to headphones with a mic attached. Incredible sound quality, but what do you expect from a company that produces the world's best headphones? They're mad comfortable, look nice, the mic is very good quality and they have the punchiest bass and clearest soundstage you'll get from any gaming headset.

Anything Sennheiser for pure sound, plantronics if you feel the need to have a mic attatched. Used both these companies for years and theyve never failed me.
Unlike sony, ****ing 4 30quid pairs of earbuds in 2 years until I got my sennheiser ones...

Don't get Logitech ClearChat Pro USB Stereo Headset if you want decent range of sound. Its good for teamspeak and thats about it. Music and sound effects sound so flat.
Best headset i have had was the now discontinued Plantronics DSP 500. Awesome sound quality. Shame that the two pairs i had broke

Definetely NOT Razar Barracuda's...dont get me wrong the sounds is good when you first get them, they need a fuk load of tuning via equilizers and a decent sound card to sound decent but they are just far too feeble for ú90+ (well, unsure of price now)
I have had mine for around a year and a bit and I am countlessly dropping them and getting the wire occasionally pulled because I run for the door or the toilet and completely forget they are around my neck...so they are pretty beat up but still, even if you looked after them they are cheaply made.

The Roccat Kave ones are very nice with true 5.1 sound, other than that my vote would go with practically any made by Sennheiser as they are very good quality for the price you pay.

A good rule to follow is stay away from headphones/headsets that have the words "gaming" in the name.
I use sennheiser cx300 IEMs and a crappy zalman mic I clipped to my keyboard

I had (still have) a Razer Barracuda headset. A tad bulky, so I much prefer my Sennheiser USB headset. Sounds great, voice quality is very clear. You can't go wrong there, especially if you're a laptop user and really need something fairly portable/light that works fine via USB.

Those are good; I use them myself. The only issue you're likely to run to is some plastic breaking off in the place where the headband goes into the earpiece. Happened to mine after about a year of use, but it might depend on the shape of your head, etc. Doesn't affect the performance, tho, which is good. So is comfort.

Normally I'd agree with this for everything, but the Fatality ****** Headset is really very good. I just feel a little dirty wearing them.
