I am currently flying Level 2 missions for Impetus and I now have the standing to fly Level 3 missions for Bakkarault Brevier (listed as the best quality agent (at http://eveinfo.com/agents/). I am not rich, my bank account has 10mill in it, and I'm training for a Myrmidon.
I have found that level 2 missions are not increasing my bank account to purchase a new ship (current ship is a Thorax). Will money be better from Level 3?
Can I outfit the thorax as an active armor tank to survive level 3 missions while I earn the money for the Myrmidon?
I normaly run a mission, accept the bonus reward, and then fly my Cataylst back into the mission arrea to collect wrecks, assuming jumps to the mission site are not over 3 or so jumps.
I am finding the level 2 missions to be rather boring and I'm hoping a change of mission line and level will spice things up. Please provide any help you can, thanks!

Yes, but they are noticably more difficult at well.

It depends on how many SP you have, but it is unlikely. I have done L3 in a Vexor, but I had pretty much maxed out all relevant skills.

I assume you salvage as well. Salvage prices have dropped a bit, since I ran missions. I don't know if it is still worthwhile if you are set on maximizing ISK/h.

I don't think anyone does mission in the long run because they think it's fun. Missions are pretty boring. If you want fun, in the end the best way is to join a corp.

I had a 21 day trial from Steam back in January. I recently purchased and have a monthly subscription. So, in all I've played probably 30 days or so. I have about 1.03m SP, built mostly around Armor tanking certificates and starship command, with other usefull weapon skills tossed in.

I have Mechanic V (almost done training) and Hull Repair V. I can use both armor repair II and will be able to use damage control II soon.
Salvaging seems to be much worse since the last time I did it back in January, where as burnt computer parts are worth almost nothing.

You might be interested in exploration. Fit a core probe launcher and a codebreaker to your ship and try to find some Radar signatures in high-sec. Hack the cans in the site with the codebreaker and take the loot.
Check out this video tutorial.

Looks intersting. It also looks like it takes some time to narrow things down enough to find the object.

It does take time, and it takes practice, and it is luck based as to weither or not you make much ISK at all. However, it is quite good money in the end if you're dedicated and competent.
I have made 20M in about 20 minutes with exploration (I have a Helios that has archaeology and hacking modules and a drone for DPS and I can kite the spawns in highsec noncombat sites while the drone takes them out), of course that was because I found two Radar sites in one system and ran them back to back, that is also offset by the couple hours I spent scanning before I found those (they were just a bonus really since I was actually looking for a C1 WH to move into (still am if someone has one), I just stumbled on the Radars).
And in response to your origional question, the lvl 3 missions will make you more ISK, but you won't be able to run them wth that little SP, you wouldn't be able to run them in the Myrm either likely, you likely have some training to do before you can do them very safely.

I did three explorations, one pirate base one and two drone ones. I didn't think the drones would ever stop spawning and I ran out of ammo and cargo space collecting all the alloy.
Exploration is different....

Before you jump into exploring, you have to know that although exploration can be very profitable even in high sec, in most high sec systems, the profitable sites are quickly sacked. I have spent hours scanning sytems for hack sites with my scanning alt to only find mining sites over and over again(because ppl dont bother with these so they end up being the only ones left)
and i would not recommend going to lo sec or null with a 1mil sp character

With that low on skill points you will QUICKLEY lose your thorax in a L3 mission, donŠt try that. Easiest way is to stay at L2Šs, go train up your armour and drone skills.
Myrm is perfect for L3Šs, and you will see that youŠll ge MUCH more iskies than in L2`s. Be aware of missions like Angel Extravaganza, Worlds Collide or Blockade with low skill points in support skills they might eat your Myrm alive.
Check eve-survival BEFORE accepting a mission, you donŠt want to lose a Tech 2 fitted ship, as modules are MORE expensive than T1, and you canŠt insure them.
After that, when sitting in a Domi L3Šs are "easymode".
Hope this helps.

There have been a fewexploration sites, where I have had to warp out of the pocket because of the sheer number of baddies. It helps when you can find the warp in distance that puts you outside of the turrents, but inside enemy ship range. Keeping those turrents away is helpful to survivial.
Plus the Thora's shields don't last long, but the armor repair keeps me healthy.
I look forward to more exploration. Do they sites respawn every day, or whats the respawn rate?

Hit me up in game mate. Will be happy to talk you through the best ways for you to start making Isk. I do a lot me exploration and you only need to get a one good radar site to make yourself a few million easily.

Sites despawn when the despawn trigger has been agtivated and all players have left the site.
After the site has despawned, it respawns in a different system in the same region. There are further restrictions on where sites can respawn, but they never move to another region.
Some sites have a respawn delay.
Respawn mechanics are not tied to downtime. (Common mistake.)
