I know, this is going to tick off a lot of people, but i just had two. I realize its a huge money maker, and not really that hard if your prepared, but heres what happened to me. its nooby and pplz wil prbly laugh, but im just confused. i was puttering along in my Hurricane, which holds 750dps tank and puts out 400dps. not bad, since its only t1 fit. So i pop up on the lvl 2 "Blockade mission" while im trying to get standings with an organaization. So i pop up, 6 frigs and a webber tower. Pwned. But then something happens. Heres what i was facing (Frigs were real dramiels, not heeled to 100 hp. Destros were about 4k hp, and cruisers had about 6k hp.) Spawn 1- 6 frigs and a webbing tower spawn 2- 24 frigs, 10 destroyers and 6 cruisers spawn 3- 30 frigs, 15 destros and 10 cruisers spawn 4- 35 frigs, 5 destros, 5 cruisers and 5 sniping cruisers spawn 5- 20 frigs, 5 destros, and 10 cruisers spawn 6- 5 frigs, 4 cruisers and my objective cruiser, which had about 10k hp So around halfway into spawn 3 my sheild breaks and im into my armor tank. I turn on a repper anad my resist platings, anad keep shooting. Im so focses on shooting when i realize that even though my tank is running it is at 15% armor. a few moments pass when its into structure. i warp out and gather my senses. Then, i go back in the next day (sadly, i had to go and the mission de- spawned) and the same thing happens, except this time i had been running the full 750 dps tank. and now im mad. So, i call in a guy i met in local and he helps me blow through it. Neither of us was aggroed, but his sheild tank was stressed and my armor tank was running full bore. This was at the spawns after 3. Why the heck do they make missions like this lvl 2? I did the lvl 1 and it was lulz, even in a poorly fit rifter. I cant even imagine the lvl 3 version of this. Why the heck did this happen? i was unprepared, granted, but it was a lvl 2 and i had a HURRICANE! WITH A 750 DPS TANK! why did this even happen?!?

I personally skip blockade lv4s, I mission in amarr space when i do. So I get sansha blockades and the track distruptors just screw me over and it takes forever to finish it(I mean a frig TDing from 80 kms away???) I just get so ****ed i dont do it anymore. Just waiting for my alt to train up for a raven.

Given you can tank the entire l3 angel Blockade with 400-500dps or so tank, wat. Admittedly that one nearly blew up a Domi once, but that was somewhat undertanked. L2 blockade you can do happily in a frigate. Posting in this guys thread again...

My amarr/caldari pilot is a bit less well trained in missiles than gunnery, but that one seems to take about the same time in a CNR as an Abaddon even allowing for messing around trying to stay out of TD range & having to use horrible ammo. I think I did the Gurista l4 once, and that one I'd really never do again. No reason not to do Angel one though.

Well initially i tried to snipe those ships by warping out and warping back in 100km using an apocalypse. It turned out the pirate NPC frigs and cruisers can TD me from 85kms away. with 3 TDs on me couldnt hit them with radio crystals on tachyons.

Yeah, I tried that first, which works to some extent if you can hit 'em early; then I gave up & flew to kill off transversal & plinked away on top of drones. It's horrible whichever way you do it, I agree.
CNR is very relaxed in comparison, until a bunch spawn next to you & blow huge holes in your tank.

blockade is your preview of next level.
You'll love level 3...and not even being sarcastic. Ship set up right its a nice paying mission (reward and bounty gets close to level 4 pay) and shorter than a level 4 done right.

Blockade l3 I did in an ishkur, probably the deimos or kronos would be perfect for just this one mission. Use high kin and therm resists. (I only had serp blockades)

These number of ships spawnig can¦t be correct, this might be what you have seen on your overview, after messing up with triggers.
Blockade is one of the toughest mission out there, and i recommand to read eve-survival, to get some idea about proper aggro management.
Hope this helps.

Just to confirm; you did have 750 dps (EFT) armor tank, and no shield tank mods, right?
If you share your fitting you might get most concrete tips how to manage the mission, and even coming lv3 missions. Although you might need to train 'Ignore Trolls' skill up.

The 'cane should have no trouble tanking any of those waves of spawn individually. Possible aggro control problem? Did you pop a trigger and get more than one wave on you at a time? Just some thoughts. Post your fit so we can see if there could possibly be any problem there.

*edit* You said some of the frigs were Dramiels...so...it was Angel Blockade? If so, could possibly be easier to tank against with a shield tank fit which might allow some more gank. That along with aggro management should let you sail through that mission with practically no problems.
Angels generally do explosive/kinetic damage (but not always). Yes, the native resistance of the shields on matari ships is pretty high to these two damage types. On the other hand, we do not know which skills they have. If they have a tone of armor skills and armor resist skills, then switching Hurricane to shield tank is not worth the trouble.
Then there is question of ammunition. Use wrong ammunition and killing rats takes far longer then it could which means rats have more time to pile the damage on you.
Then there is question of tactics. I would really hate to try to do Blockade in ac fitted ship.
And I forgot to mention drones. In L3 you really start to need drones.
Someone earlier asked to post the mission fit. That is probably good idea if we really want to get to the bottom of this.

The Blockade, Level 2 with cruiser:
- Use a Thorax / Vexor - Pick any structure and orbit at 30km - Release .... the dronen! - Watch TV and comeback after 20-30 minutes.
With battle cruiser:
- Use a Myrmidon - Be cool and just sit there. - Release ... the dronen!! - Watch TV and comeback after 15-20 minutes. --

I cant see the fuss, Blockade lvl4 is easy if you do the spawns properly.
If you don't do the spawns properly get ready to get spanked by DPS getting jammed and all the rest.
Read eve survival take it for granted about spawns and do it as it says, Its a breeze.
However Smash the supplier lvl4 is a mission to worry about. unless your a prissy Caldari who sits at 100km firing cruise missiles without getting touched.

I think level 4 blockade is easy, I can't imagine why you're having such an issue. Granted, I do it in a shield-tanked ishtar with hardeners based on the npc's. This gives me around 1200 dps tank. My dps is meh, around 400 - drones plus autocannons. It gets annoying when I can't target anything due to all the sensor damps, but all I have to do is send drones on one target, set them to aggro.. then wait. I kinda wish it was harder.

Tachyon beams plus a Tracking Enhancer. NPC TDs dont do a thing to falloff, and I get 36Km falloff with that. I set my "keep at range" to 25Km, burn directly towards the first group of Elite cruisers to keep transversal low, and start firing as soon as the drones* reach the nearest one. They drop pretty fast.

My runner is a crosstrained amaar/caldari, 63m SP, and has all skills capped to run either races ships including marauders and t3's. When i pull blockade i leave the nightmare in the barn due to all the TD.
In my stable for mission running in Amaar space i use the nightmare, the golem, CNR, and tengu, i use the right tool for the job.
While i normally run a pulse nightmare for a lot of it , i have tried tachs in sansha blockade, but that second wave has so many frigs/cruisers it's pretty much a perma TD situation and most of them get under my guns even with 2 tracking enhancer's, a target computer w/tracking script and the ships max bonus's. Even with max skilled hobbies, that second wave is a bloody snoozefest, sitting there waiting for the drones to chew all that up. Using pulse isnt any better.
For this mission i use a missle boat, either the CNR or the Tengu. Both of these ships are fitted with rigors I $ II's to get max sig reduction with cruise/hm's respectively. It's a tossup which ship get's it done faster, gonna have to time it one of these days. The golem with either torps or cruise is much to slow here. I only use the golem for certain missions that i loot, mostly only damsel.
If your a younger toon and and plan on staying in Amaar space, it may be better in the beginning to train up for missle boats first, probably Tengu first, then CNR, then bring your Amaar ship skills in after that to really pick up the completion time on a lot of the missions with the nightmare if you wanna be a hardcore runner in Amaar space.
You don't want to keep advancing while constantly rejecting all blockade mission's. While rare, Lvl 4 Sansha blockade can spawn faction rats, and while i have only done it once in the last few years, i have looted a nightmare BPC and various other goodies while doing sansha's blockade. Besides that, they pay good in bounty and LP.
A lot of the missions in Amaar space are sansha, and the TD's are just annoying as hell most of the time, specially in blockade, and even with max ship/weapon/support skill's/ faction fit and a head full of HG shield implants, blockade can give my nightmare one hell of a run for it's money. It is the only sansha mission i wont use my nightmare in, all the others are quiet doable in a turret boat, but that one's just plain hell.

The Mordus Headhunters, Level 4 is one of my favorite missions:

Group 2 (back left - 60-70km) 13x frigates (5x Mordus Bobcat, 2x Mordus Bounty Hunter, 5x Mordus Sabre) 26x cruisers (8x Mordus Cheetah, 8x Mordus Katana, 3x Mordus Leopard, 5x Mordus Lion, 2x Mordus Puma) 5x battleships (1x Mordus Sequestor, 3x Mordus Phanti, 1x Mordus Gigamar)
Group 3 (back right - 80-100km) 2x frigates (2x Mordus Bounty Hunter) 17x cruisers (4x Mordus Katana, 3x Mordus Leopard, 2x Mordus Lion, 3x Mordus Puma, 5x Mordus Cheetah) 3x battleships (2x Mordus Sequestor, 1x Mordus Mammoth)

To answer some questions, i couldnt tell which ships were triggers so i blew them all... :P bad idea i guess my tank was actually steady at 40% armor when i had it full run My fit is a high DPS and tank AC active armor tanked cane. It is not tech two fit, though mostly meta. Not the best for missions, but it chews through them quicker then with arty. Raw repping power: 100dps Resists: 85% specific thats a 750 dps tank, supported by a few cap boosters (i only hav like five to keep space for loot)

The Blockade Level 2 is one of the missions where you should consider getting yourself a ship only for salvaging. The amounts of loot and salvage material will got worse with level 3 and 4 missions. Use a destroyer (i.e. Catalyst):
[high] 4x Tractor Beam I 4x Salvager I
[mid] 1x Afterburner II
[low] 3x Expanded Cargohold II
For each mission pocket you come through do you create a bookmark. You then collect the bookmarks for several missions and after one hour do you start salvaging the wrecks with your salvager ship. --

You fail horribly at maths. To get 85% resists on both specific damage types on a hurricane it would take 2 hardeners for each + plating. So I guess there's 1 medium armor repairer on your cane.
A T2-repper reps 320 HP every !!!9!!! seconds ... thats 35 HP/s. With 85% resists u have exactly 35/0.85 = 41 DPS tank ...
U said u dont even have T2 so its even lower!
With the right setup a Blockade lvl 4 is one of the best missions in EvE.
And if it's ur style of gaming to complain about everything coz it's hard for u and basing this on wrong facts (i.e. 750 DPS tank) EvE is the wrong game for you.
