What exactly is the reimbursement procedure for lost items due to database problems yesterday?
I only lost a 17 mil isk [to sell] implant for a storyline mission but I want that 17 mil in my account.
I personally would have thought that CCP might have put a team on this and have it sorted in 24 hours with all reimbursements done. Thats how any normal company works when such things happen, dedicate a team to the problem get it fixed ASAP this causes customers to be happy.
Happy times.
There are players out there who have lost more than a billion for lost ships and lost trading..
If I was them and I've not been reimbursed yet Id be pi**ed off.
How long does it take?

As per the news item yesterday from CCP t0rfifrans, you should submit a petition under the reimbursement category and a GM will be happy to assist.

This to be quite honest. I don't keep an item balance, nor do I expect too many other players do. If we don't notice it missing it must not be important?

Edited by: Elesentra on 08/05/2010 16:00:39 To find out if you lost anything:
Check your wallet journal for the 75 minutes after DT yesterday (EVE Time approx 11:45 through 13:00). If you bought something during that period, your wallet will show the ISK vanishing, but you WON'T have the item in your inventory anywhere.
Similarly, if you had buy orders open, and somebody hit one of your buy orders (i.e. sold you something) during that time period, you should see an entry in your wallet Journal showing ISK leaving your account for Market Escrow - but, again, the item itself will not be in your possession.
I'll add:
In my case I lost items when I cancelled SELL orders. I guess, implementation wise, that when you cancel a Sell order and the item concerned is put back into your station inventory - that's the same as a new item being created, so was affected the same way.
If you cancelled any Sell orders during the problem period yesterday, you may not have received the cancelled items back into inventory.
Same applies if you bought something through contract for Auction or Item/Exchange.
Where it gets trickier, is if you were unstacking things. Say you had mined 5000 Veldspar, and you tried to unstack that into two piles of 2500, you may have lost the 'new' pile created (so you would have lost 2500). I can't think of how you would track that though - I've just gone through the wallet to work out what I'm missing.

i have 8000 + transactions per day, most of them from buyorders. how am i supposed to present the necessary data to any gammaster. i dont know which fecking items are missing from the stacks. losses could be in the billions. why not run data query on the items traded ion that time and check if they are present. if not reimuburse. once again ccp wants us customers to do their work by petition.

I wonder, if you tried to assemble a ship during that period, if that failed also? I believe an assembled ship is a 'new' item, created at the same time as the packaged ship is deleted.

This, tbh.
I do countless larger market transactions every day. "Check what you lost" is a damn joke. VOTE CAT

They should have just rolled the server back to before the first down time.
Itsnt that the whole point of having back up - to make sure you dont screw over players when you have a data error?

Im not a major trader and my potential loss is not in the billions category, but most likely in the millions Anyways... i must agree to those before me here in the matter of who is responsible to find this out!
I have a great deal buy/sell orders out there, and i have no idea on what may be missing in that time. What i do know is that there is extremly seldom a whole hour goes by without me having a transaction...
So i would say this to CCP: YOU solve this issue!
If there was a way i could help, i would (im not an asshat), but in this case i cant see how on earth anyone can tell you what they have lost.. ______________________________________________ My sig is on strike due to lack of attention! |

After yesterday's downtime there have been many petitions that have come in. The GMs will answer yours as soon as possible. Check your petition to ensure that it is in the right category. This way you will get to the right person first.

Have made a petition and have not got a response yet at all not even a message to say your dealing with it.
The point of my post to begin with was its been 24 hours now and I have not even had a reply from you. That Is very bad customer service.
Especially when there is thousands of us waiting.
As to the above GMs post how can I get it in the incorrect catagory. REIMBURSEMENTS pretty straight forward, no?
To the below poster Drykor as cool as it is for guys to help I am a multi billionaire like alot of you guys are. My point isnt that I NEED the 17 mil my point is I worked for that 17 mil so I want it in my account.
Same applies for if you built a Battleship with the intention of getting X amount for it but you got nothing instead you'd be a little miffed.

There are a lot of players waiting and the GMs are working hard to address each and every petition. It takes time for someone to go in and respond to each petition. Taking time out to respond to all petitions coming in just to say "we got your petition we will get to it as soon as possible" will result in someone's actual issue not being addressed. When the GMs get your petition they will address your issue and answer any questions you may have. I understand that it is frustrating waiting, however, they will do their best to address your petition as soon as they can.
