Hi,
i've launched some goods from the surface on planets with and without a cargo link. I can see the planetary launches in the log and it takes 5 days. But what will happen in 5 days? What would be different with a space port?

If you take a close up look at your cargo container you will see the engine and framework has detached itself from the container, so the container has no means of maintaining orbit. After 5 days the orbit will deteriorate and the container will drop back into the planet and explode.
Goods in your space port should remain until collected.

You need to go collect the cargo container which is in orbit around the planet you launched it from. The launch happens immediately, you have 5 days before the cargo container vanishes along with your stuff.

The spaceport and cargolink seem to be the only way to import stuff to the planet through the customs office. But how does the tax thingy work? Is it per unit? Who collects the tax? Would be nice if the first player who builds a spaceport takes the tax as kind of 'service fee'. :)

The tax is per unit. That is if you wanna export 10 units of Tier 1 or Tier 2 goods you pay 100 isk in tax. If you try to export raw materials off a planet then you'd better be ready to loose isk. Raw materials need to be processed one step minimum to even stand a chance of being profitable.
EvE collects the tax... And it should stay that way. (PS, i couldn't care less about taxing someone who exports a few hundred units of goods processed to Tier 1 or higher as they should.)
My opinions belong to me, you can't have them!

so basically before exporting try to get your materials as high level as possible i dont see why anyone would ever export raw materials...
rockets get stuff off planet, but are safer and i think more expensive (safer cause not everone is going to the cargolink to get it off... and in low/null these will probably get camped often, but the export tax is different i think rockets are more expensive and less efficient but safer, probably better to use rockets for highend goods...
also i believe export tax will go to the sov holding alliance in nullsec, but i cant confirm as i dont have soverignty... and as a renter i find it annoying that we cant plant PCC's in areas we rent.

do you mean that everyone can see and share the cargolink's storage? I thought it's like the personal hangar in stations. Or do you refer to the camps of the cargolink in low/nullsec?
I've left something in the cargolink of Nourvukaiken I. Let's see if it's still there. :)
