Some of the threads on this forum are hard to get through because of the number of unconstructive posts that get thrown in. These can be sorted to a few categories that people can chose to filter out: Reject, Approve, Alter, New, Specify, Question.
If a post only is someone saying they like or dont like it they haven't really said anything at all so they are simply taking up space.
Alter would be any post that proposes to change something that the original idea does.
New is anything related to the topic but is something added. Something that is unrelated would be moved to a new thread
Specify is something that explains how the idea could be made to work
Questions are usually asing for someone to specify something

So ... you're offering to write a heuristic algorithm which can intelligently determine the content of a post and its value and relevance to the discussion? If so, I think there's a prize in artificial intelligence design in it for you.
Otherwise you seem to be simply whining and taking up space by complaning about other people taking up space. I trust the irony isn't lost on you. |

Yes. Develop a breakthrough in artificial intelligence. Deploy it to moderate a forum of a 300,000 account game.
Makes sense. Eve forums official anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pudOFG5X6uA-áReal men tank hull. Fake women shield-tank Gallente. |

Such an AI wouldn't be that difficult to design.
Recently at Star Trek.com some monkey launched an all out spam attack on the site posting in every forum.
Probably Anonymous again.
I was looking through some of the post made in each forum and how they were able to get around the sites anti-spam was by writing code in various combinations that were as follows.
Post 1. XWQE NPER IERT Post 2. WXEQ PERN EIRT Post 3 WQXE RPEN TREI
This type of coding was used all through the website to spam each forum.
What they failed to realize was that the main link that they used as their login name contained a few keywords that when caught by the anti-spam filter would have booted them out of the system.
A spam filter could be created where the total number of characters typed in a response would first determine if the response could be posted.
For example a response to any post could not be any less than twenty characters in length. Anything less that twenty characters in length would be discarded until the response included 20 + characters.
There are anti-spam programs that the large media corporations use to block swear words from being posted on their websites.
Whenever a swear is typed the poster sees the swear as it is typed but when the comment is submitted various #^%@% are use in place to block the actual swear from being read.
Since the anti-swear program is reading each line as it is making adjustments in the server before being posted then I am certain that CCP could establish a program that would block certain types of post remarks.

Not even close to what the OP suggested.
OP wants something that can make a value judgement on the content of a post. This cannot be done without serious AI/obsessed GM checking every post prior to creation. |

I never said anything about making it an automatic classiication. The whole point of this would be that people decide what it fits into so the whole thread doesnt get boged down. On every post it would show how you would want to classify it and if 10 people or so agree on where it should go it will then be filtered. |

No. Don't like someone's posting style or content, then block them. Job done.
