So i have had this problem for a while and while monitoring exacly what this does and how it happens i have lost a ship and emo raged over spending a hour buying 1000 units of ammo
Basicly Windows Vista Data Execution Prevention desides that eve.exe is puting my computer at risk and with no further questions asked shuts the program down
Now this does not just happen out of the blue, this happens:
a) more freequently when im running 2 acc's b) can happen when i show info on anything or anyone c) can happen when instaling a invention/coppy/manifacture job d) can happen when i acces market e) can happen when i change ships f) can happen when i fit my ship g) can happen when i jump via gate/cyno/bridge
Basicly seems to me the X in this formula is client requesting data
now there do come days where this does not happen at all but then there can come days where each acc is shout down up to 20 times.
I have googled the problem and done the windows solution thingy and all answers tell me to go to windows advanced settings and tell Data Execution Prevention that eve and all related files are OK that they are NOT made by evil terrorists trying to take over my computer, tho even after doing this it crashed, so i went a step further and made DEP only acces windows essential files, but this STILL happens
so now im about to give up and just exepting that my game is broken for ever :( unles someone here can be kind enugh to help

Have you done the obvious first? Disable DEP in your BIOS. I have EVE running under Vista just fine.

Been dealing with the same issue on a lower end Dell laptop. The problem all started with Dominion but actually got better with the last patch. The frequency with which mine occurs is very sporadic. I can have Eve up the entire day with no issues. But the next day DEP will kick in and the app will crash. I have only been able to narrow it down to one thing that I can reproduce. If I load the market window, in station, with 2 or 3 other windows open at the same time, I can crash the app. I can also crash the app opening the market window in space. Changing DEP settings is useless.
My system isn't that bad except for the integrated , Intel 950 GPU. I have a core2 duo and 3 gigs of RAM.
My guess is that, for my system, previous forum posts by the devs have addressed this issue in previous expansions with my video processor. Its low end but very common to see them in laptops so they kinda had to address it. But I think Dominion broke it again.
My only solution was to make sure the machine was cooled and to give the GPU a break by realizing its in-game limitations. I can still play the game with settings all on high, but I don't use bloom.

Why don't you try my suggestion? Disable DEP in your BIOS. It will likely be listed under "Advanced CPU options," or whatever the title may be in your particular BIOS. Whenever DEP is turned off at CPU level, Windoze can't use it, either.
