WHY... Why is it that when I hold my mouse over my character sheet it displays the time it will take my current skill to finish training but won't countdown the seconds and minutes?! I have to move my mouse somewhere else and hold it over my character sheet again to see if it is training. Can we get that updates CCP?

If you must have a better answer because you are a complete tool, when you move your mouse over the char tab, it displays how long from the time your mouse touched the tab till the time your skills finishes. If you want an updated time, move your damn mouse and get over it.
Sorry for the harshness, but there are MUCH bigger things CCP is trying to fix/update already -- not to mention the new expansion that is coming out next week.

If this is your #1 problem with the game I think CCP is doing a pretty good job and maybe you should just get over it.

If you need a live countdown follow the steps outlined below.
1. Open Character Sheet 2. Click Open training queue. 3. Look in upper right corner of the queue window just above the blue queue bar. 4. Watch numbers countdown. 5. Get your dumb ass podded because you were more worried about a skill timer counting down than you were about playing the damned game. 6. ???? (this step is required) 7. Profit. --Vel

6. Notice that there is a minigame around your EVE Online Skill Training Simulator, called "lol ships in space". It's actually pretty awesome. Try it sometimes.

If there was no skill in training it would tell you exactly that. If it shows a time to completion, then it is training. Furthermore the skill icon will be highlighted if no skill is in training. ~_~ (Retired from ship toasting. Now a professional.)

It has a lot of potential, if CCP would only work on it some.

1. Look at overview on EVEMON 2. Look for any red text / numbers on overview 3. If you cant see any visit again in 24 hours, if you do see red text it means you have free room in skill queue and you should probably add a skill to it
Sadly this service isnt free and in order for it to be activated you will have to send me 100 million This is so not my main

You know, "absolutely cannot stand" is a rather absolute expression. I mean, #1 or #1000 on that list, you absolutely cannot stand either, so how are they different?
Bug (or rather, lack of polish) has been in game since release day, I think. Good luck getting them to fix it. UI sucks, and I'm kinda tired of repeating it.

Originally by: Jerid Verges The number 1 problem with Eve is the community.
Actually, EVE's community is known as one of the most engaged, solid and fruitful online MMOs communities out there. Due to the fact the game is one whole single server, the potential to have thousands of people linked within alliances and the complexity of the game, your average EVE player is much more likely to be a decent sort, with a head on his shoulders and genuine long term interest into playing the game.
But what you mostly see on the 'EVE general discussion' forum it the flaming and trash talking types. I go often on the other, more specific forums such as 'ships and modules' and I see people answering other people's questions, having smart argumentation about x type of fitting being superior to y type. Overall, even if I can't deny the inevitable trolls and flamers and other undesirable members are around and polluting the air, at least you have the other side of the coin too. Smart, experienced players helping newer ones, people announcing cool events, and events taking place to everyone's profit except the intended victims ; )...
I gotta say I'm proud to be part of this community. Proud to be part of this game and amused by the OP. I read the title and entered the thread expecting to be witness of yet another person complaining about how harsh and unforgiving the game is to noobs, and to be answered by the usual 'if you don't like it, go away and give us our stuff' But really, I after reading what the actual complaint was, I was laughing out loud. Next thing you know, CCP's Major concern will be to complete absence of slightly darker gray moons. I'm gonna open a thread about this right now. This crucial flaw is completely breaking my immersion in the game, as I cry to one day see a dark gray moon to barely look at while scouting for reds. This game need a more refined eye candy!

Try a little salt on the surface you are trying to stand eggs up on. After that, with some practice, you can do it without the salt.
