Hi,
I could need some thoughts regarding ratting in Angel null sec. It's friendly space, so no ninja ratting. I never wanted to rat in a BS. They seemed to ponderous and I want to zip from belt to belt. But it seems they fulfill my requirements best:
- Fast ratting! I don't want to stay more than a couple of minutes per belt - Utility and tools against occasional reds
So I ended with 3 (partial) fittings:
- 6x 800mm Tempst + 1x Heavy Neut + 1x Cloak + MWD + 15x Warrior2 - 5x 800mm Typhoon + 2x Heavy Neut + 1x Cloak + MWD + 5x Bouncer2 + 5x Warrior2 - 5x Cruise Missile Typhoon + 2x Heavy Neut + 1x Cloak + 5x Bouncer2 + 5x Warrior2
The idea is to warp in at range, clear the BS rats and align meanwhile, then warp to the next belt. The Typhoon would need sentries to get fast kills. But I have to stay immobile with setries. Which is bad for flying aligned, keeping range and speed tank somewhat. I could skip the sentries and use the huge drone bay only for defence against reds. But I'm not sure.
Then I like the range independence of the Missile Typhoon. I guess I could leave the MWD out for this fit. The other fittings would need a MWD to get/stay in range or to drop the transversal.
Tempest is nice because it's fast and agile. But I like the idea of 3 tool slots of the Phoon. Doing that on the Tempest would gimp my damage too much I fear.
Lastly I'm not sure which kind of tank. I want a shield tank because of max damage and agility. But active or buffer? Active is nice because I can rep to 100% quite fast after each belt. I made the experience buffers tend to stay on a low level the whole time - especially on BSs - which is bad in case something happens. At least I made this experience while ratting in my buffer Drake - and this buffer regenerates fast!
Any ideas? Thanks. -
Save the missiles from the glowing blob :S

OK, then...

Wait, what? How about this:
Quote: [Hurricane, pve?] Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II Tracking Enhancer II Shield Power Relay II Shield Power Relay II
10MN Afterburner II Large Shield Extender II Large Shield Extender II Invulnerability Field II
425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 425mm AutoCannon II, Fusion M 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher I, Fulmination Assault Missile 'Arbalest' Heavy Assault Missile Launcher I, Fulmination Assault Missile
Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I Medium Core Defence Field Purger I
Warrior II x5
Granted I don't know much about shield tanking, and have no missile skills, but for me it churns out 630 DPS and tanks just under 200 DPS (omni-damage), while moving a bit faster and costing a bit less than a battleship.

If you have a pos or something where you can repair, then you could go light armor tank or shield tank.
If there is no place to repair locally, only armor tank makes sense.

What? wouldn't a shield tank be better no matter what? Why would the ability to repair mean anything when the rats shouldn't get through your shields and you should be in a safespot if a bad person comes in the system. Touch not the Cat bot a Glove |

active arty maelstrom, everytime
if you really want the utility use an arty tempest, but some ecm drones should save you 90% of the time
