Edited by: GreaseMonkeyAlt on 23/05/2010 21:12:02 I looked over the patch notes for Tyrannis.
And I was disappointed, considering that CCP has had just over half a year to add content and, more importantly, balance things.
Obviously, the biggest thing added is PI. But making a 'planet view', making it possible to draw lines and dots on planets, and make resources appear in cans over the planet, Should not have taken long at all. (A good exceller could probably write up the code for the resource distribution of PI in Excel given a little time)
Eve gate was almost certainly made by the CCP website programmers, not the game programmers, so this shouldn't have impaired CCP's ability to work on the expansion.
The Alienware keyboard lights? What a bloody waste of time. But then again, it shouldn't have taken long at all to program that.
The Scorpion has been remodelled... Didn't CCP manage to remodel every single ship for Trinity? Why just one now?
And loads of other tiny stuff, such as standings redone. They also managed to fix a few things. Like when sometimes the sun is visible through the edge of your ship. Nothing about lag, however.
So yeah, this Expansion is pathetic. Its almost like you've only had one or two months to work on it, but it has been six months since Dominion! So what are you doing, CCP?
My only hope is that the reason this one is terrible is that you are working on something epic for the next winter expansion. Hope you aren't siphoning off too many developers from Eve to help with Dust514...

Edited by: Vossejongk on 23/05/2010 21:24:12 OP, do you do game coding? No? Then please shut up. Also learn2read, Dust is done by the Shanghai team, which does nothing with EVE, because EVE devs team is in Reykjavik and Atlanta (partly) ----------------------------------------------- EVE Gate:

I was comparing what CCP has done in the past, and what it has done for this expansion. What I was questioning is why so much less has been put into it.
And you can only really say that if you do game coding yourself...

There will always be times where some company's do exceptionally good and there are times when they do not so good. What you're expecting is they always do exceptionally good and a little bit better then the previous time. Its almost impossible what you're asking.
And no, I dont do game coding, but beeing the support ticket guy for half a year for another MMO which I wont mention I came in pretty close touch with the devs and I learned that its a way too much undervalued job then some might think. Working 12 hour shifts and in the weekend isnt rare and just before a major expansion most of them work their ass off to get all things right (or as close as it can gets). ----------------------------------------------- EVE Gate:

You don't have to be an automotive engineer to know what you want in a car. You make coding sound like magic. It's hard work yes, but it's not beyond many of us here.

Cry me a river already.
To OP: This expansion may not have anything you think is worth while, but if you actually look at where the Devs want to take this game, in the long run, it is a much needed expansion.
There are some players really looking forward to what is comming out, now and in the future.
Also, stop feeling like CCP needs to justify to you how they spend their devlopment time. They are truly only responsible to their investors. If you want them to notice, unsubscribe.

I skimmed over your post.
And I was disappointed, considering that you started a whole new paragraph, not just a sentence, with a conjunction.
Obviously, this post was a big whine that illustrates your inability to grasp the complexity involved in designing and balancing a whole new industrial process like PI. It should not have taken you such a long post to get your point across. (A good gradeschooler could've just posted "I think this sucks" given enough time)
Whine.
*****.
Moan.
And loads of other tiny complaints, such as fix the lags because its a popular one.
So yeah, this post is pathetic. Its almost like you spent 5 whole minutes typing without seriously having any clue what it is you were talking about, but it has been days since your last fail post.
My only hope is that the reason you wasted this bandwidth was to give everyone in the forums a good laugh, and that you're really just trying to polish up your trolling skills.

CCP Iceland - making moar volcanoes erupt to slow down businesses so all they can do is sit and play eve till they stop erupting.
CCP Atlanta - They are upgrading sov and carbearing it up until they are ready to assault the Chicago system.
CCP Shanghai - employing lots of people to spam gold farming messages in all other mmo's then when people get sick of other mmo's they will come to eve.
Its all apart of their plan for world domination

A lot of them are working on WOD. They still have a dedicated team for eve, most of them are working on INCARNA. DUH.
Speaking of wod. Did you know the 5 pip skill sheet system is nicked directly from VTM? It's based on White Wolf's IP. Eve-Online's RP system could probably be plopped into the world of darkness universe and they would be compatible.
I'm happy about WOD - It'll probably be great. I'm happy about incarna, because it will give eve a huge huge player base - most people I know would play if the game had avatars - even if they didn't have any in-game function other then to look pretty. More players = more stuff to do in eve.
I'm not happy about Dust. Who cares about the Xbox? Please make it for PC too, and put it on steam.

Your subscription money instead of being used to improve EVE or even buy Tux beer is being used to fund the development of a vampire game focused on clothing etc which is intentionally aimed at women and gays(and no I am not making that last part up.)
Im playing EVE because its the only sand box around, but I definitely feel used.
