Subject says it all.
N'offense if any of you are crazy about it. I thought it was sloppy drivel that didn't accomplish anything at all.
I loved lost once I got warmed up to it. The finale was disappointing to say the least.

After all the build up, it was bound to be disappointing to some people. No way around that.
I've not watched it yet, will come back when I have. ____________________

The finale was disappointing to say the least, you say ? Yeah, they lost me halfway into the pilot episode, and no tidbits I watched from here and there mid-series really caught my attention back, so I can't say I'm surprised they also finish it in a lousy fashion. Hooray for consistency ? So, did everybody finally die in the finale ? Please tell me everybody dies ! Or at least most of them, with no retcon possibility. Or they go mad, lost in time/space/alt.dimensions/wherever for good with no chance of escape. I don't care about spoilers in general, and THIS spoiler in particular I don't care to avoid. Then at least I can start watching the show, content that most/some/whomever got their proper punishment.

After hearing some noise from the bushes for the 10th time in about three episodes way back I discarded it like the twobit ****tease it was.
I hate Lost and I hate the random plot acceptance it brought into TV and the shifting back and forth between some exotic location and home, you hear that SGU!?

I for one, am simply glad at the vindication, both literally and philosophically, of the Minmatar design philosophy:

Dress up the ending how you like but that link is closer to the truth than any fan boys half baked theories or the actual final episode tells it, totally called hell/purgatory as well, lets be honest what else could it have been.

SGU drives me nuts, and I want to like it but damn, they need to stop letting chimps with untreated ADD write the show. As for Lost - I love the ending. I giggled on the inside at the nerd rage that would pour forth on the intertubes about the way it was ended. Still, this was nothing compared to the ending of BSG. That - was epic. No show in my mind has or will touch that. And the nerd rage over that ending made me touch myself inappropriately..

Truth. Season 1 was alright, but nobody I know could stand it beyond halfway into Season 2.

I watched the finale and I'd never seen an episode before that. I took a look on wikipedia and it seems like the writers initially wanted to make a show about crash survivors, ran out of things to do, and went into the realm of soft science fiction. __________________________________________

Massively gutted with the ending, such a cop out from the writers, they had no idea how to finish it off so went with the easiest option.
P.S Did you notice at the end that vincent had his paw down jacks pants???

The writers took 6 years of incredible story-telling and flushed it straight down the toilet in the last 15 minutes.

That's fine and dandy, but the problem is that I don't think the writers have read a book before. That was the sloppiest writing i've seen in awhile. I don't have a problem with what happened, I have a problem with the writing and the 2.5 hours of video collage.

Pretty much this. The only things i really cared about in the show were:
- smokey
- egyptians
- ashes
- undead sayid
- dogan and the asian temple thing
- numbers
- timewarp
- atom bomb trick
- widmore
- dharma
- polar bears
- kate's shoulders
At least the ending delivered one thing i was after?

why not think of it as an extension of the human condition on the producers part?
because if anything this means this has been a spontaneous production. That has a value of its own mate.
they did make something out of nothing, and if anything Lost will go down in History for something.
Don't get me wrong, personally i wanted a Scifi explanation myself to all that technology and research. But we can't have it all now can we. ---

Does it seem to anyone else that the alternate universe that was introduced at the start of season 6 was only written in as a diversion away from the real story?
It was so self-serving, like they just put it there to end the series because they realised they'd gone 5 seasons already and not answered any of the questions. If anything they asked more.
I'd say to anyone that hasn't watched Lost yet, watch everything from the Pilot up to the penultimate episode then imagine up your own finale.

Yes. I think they knew they had only one season left and tried to make us forget the rest of the story.

The only thing that sunk in the end was the story not the island -)), they should have rename the show : "how to make a lot of money with nothing in the end ..."
If you never saw Lost, do yourself a favour and watch this excellent movie : Jacob's Ladder , same story except its not a 6 years tv show scam.

Ok let me slap you in the face for a moment. First of all let me start by saying I'm not much of a LOST fan, in fact I thought the show was rather average. I started watching some time in late 2nd / early 3rd season and kept watching because I thought the plot was absolutely ridiculous. I was expecting Mark Hamill wearing a giant rubber supervillain costume at every corner. But obviously this isn't the point of the show. The absurd setting and whacky plot splits into random events were just the premise on which to build a soap opera in six acts.
So, was the ending surprising, exciting, explaining or interesting? No. But neither was the rest of the show. Which brings me to my point: The ending wasn't spectacular, but it was fitting! It fit right on to the rest of the mediocre show disguised behind a voodoo science-fantasy curtain. So in fact, in relation to the show it tied off, the ending was the perfect ending for the job. It was a great ending to LOST. It wouldn't have been a great ending to any other show, but it was a great ending to LOST.
I didn't like it, though.
