Last few days I've been very annoyed to put the least of missions in EVE, well that was until tonight. I got a mission called "Pirate Extravaganza". At first I thought it was the warp to 5 moons to take out the spawns at each, but it wasn't. It was a deadspace mission, with 5 gates. After I had finnished the first 2 stages alone I asked some Corp mates to come in and help out so we could do it in time before bonus timed out (YES! it took forever in a cruiser alone). When we had cleaned all 5 stages, we hadn't found any loot of any value, however, 2 buildings did drop a 11th and 8th tier overseer's personel effect, valued to 7.4 mill.
However, there was a 6th gate at the 5th stage. It required a insignia to get through, one that didn't drop during the mission. I where able to aquire the required insignia and went back (Just want to say that cover the distance of 80+km over several stages without the ability to use mwd on a battleship, that is CRUEL).
We got the message that the 6th gate wasn't a part of the mission and lead deep into enemy terretory. We found several high end cruisers, a few interceptors and a battleshp + some mk 3 sentry guns (nasty stuff), and a Battlestation. My client did freeze at the first stage of this battle so my corp mate is atm left pounding on the battlestation which take forever to take down (or so it seems).
Although, many thanks to the devs for showing me that DS missions can be something else than "kill the spies" which I had for like 2 days straight ;-)

were the buildings like colonies? or things obviously maked that you should blow them up like HQ and Prison or something?

The building that dropped the 11th tier overseer thing was a "Angel HQ" If I recall right, took for ages to take down in cruisers (we changed to bs's once we discovered what was on the other end of the gate that required the palladium insigina.
Just destroy all the structures you can in DS missions, they might drop something.

yeah very nice mother****in surprise i've lost 2 caracals on this dumb mission... just because 5th beacon had a ceptor with scrambler and 6 god damn sentries around it in under 5km range.... Now dont tell me that **** about learning new tactics and stuff - i know very well how to handle those****s in MOA, the problem is that it took me like a ****in hour to get it to the gun-point... wheee.... and there i croll another 100km with 200m/s speed... how exciting... Now I was very sceptic about ppl complaining about damsel mission, where u have to spend most of the time tryin to pickup stupid damsel can, but this time CCP really ****ed me off. They could have at least put gates close to the beacons, since we still have to kill every rat around to be able to use it.... ____ When flying by Concord Customs Commander's Dominix I distinctly heard him saying "... world domination..." |

The mission description cleary says you should call in help from other agent runners and friends to acomplish this mission. Its a sound advice, and if you want to go for the last stage that isnt a part of the mission and require the palladium tag to unlock, you really need more firepower than a caracel.

5 heavy missle launchers will eat all frigs no matter what.
hahahaha
how are sooooo many people loosing caracals to frigs in these missions.
are your heavy missles MISSING. if your having trouble killing frigs with heavy missles out of caracal.......
1. use kinetics for the bonus, HP is still HP and it's free.
2. train heavy missle to 4 minimum, it's easy
3. train cruiser to 4 minimum, it's easy.
frigs/inties won't last at all even that 30k bugger
and 200m/sec that's a bummer
Normally I'd share my setup but not this time, that has to be the absolute easiest ship to fit well.
start off with 5 heavy missle launchers and if speed is ......... oooops N/M figure it out for yourselves.

Heavy kinetic missile with 20% bonus against shield: 108 hp Heavy therm missile with no bonus against shield: 121 hp Heavy emp missile with no bonus against shield: 150 hp
Heavy kinetic missile with 20% bonus against armour: 129 hp Heavy therm missile with no bonus against armour: 129 hp
HP might be still HP but resistances are still resistances... little point in using these against NPCs.

Dude, missions were too easy. Now there is a chance you'll die on them. That's what CCP intended. If you dont' wanna die, you can do currier missions and reject the kill missions. I love the fact that you can die. I've on several ocations almost lost my dominix doing level 4 missions. I haven't complained, just bought insurance. Do the same.

Dude, missions were too easy. Now there is a chance you'll die on them. That's what CCP intended. If you dont' wanna die, you can do currier missions and reject the kill missions. I love the fact that you can die. I've on several ocations almost lost my dominix doing level 4 missions. I haven't complained, just bought insurance. Do the same.
