Congrants to the winners! I feared the worst for a while about some of the candidates, but the winners seems to be reliable people indeed!

You'll find that a number of elected members had lowsec in their program, I don't doubt this is going to be on the agenda...

Yeah, but I also remember CSM boards of the past, where literally everyone had some kind of lowsec boost in his plans, yet the entire focus was split between some tiny and secondary issues. Let's hope this is going to be something different this time. ---[center] Please resize your signature to the maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

So the known PvP hater, Caldari-hater, self confessed FW exploit user, RL industrial saboteur and known lair Ankhesentapemkah got second place even after the revelations about her unsuitability for the CSM.... Here, Here, and here, highlights the sham that is the CSM and how it is fixed. Does T20 count the votes or something?
Time for people to stop boycotting the elections and voting "abstain" to show our protest at numpties like this and their rigged election.

So 12.7% turnout is a record...
Proof of just how unimportant, unrepresentative and redundant the CSM actually is to the majority of players. Just do away with this pretence.
Congratulations to those winning a free holiday to Iceland.

I assure you that by the time CSM5 has finished most if not all of the Candidates will have worked very hard trying to represent us, and they'll have earned their trips to Iceland by.
Although I am only familiar with 12 out the 14 it looks like theres a lot of potential, as almost all of them have actually made some effort for their campaign and/ or for past CSMs.
Welldone to everyone, and especially Mynx and Ahnk for extremely successful campaigns.

Congratulations to those winning a free holiday to Iceland.
I only voted with one character out of laziness, I'm sure many others did as well.
Many just pay eve as a typical game and don't really care as much about development
It's a decent percentage.

I assure you by the time CSM is done, they will have achieved nothing of any significance whatsoever, nothing anybody would notice without being specifically told that it had occurred, and absolutely nothing CCP didn't want to do anyway CSM or not.
I assure you that they will claim credit for just about anything seen as good, and avail themselves of all responsibility for anything bad.
I assure you that we just voted for 9 lucky holiday winners and nothing more.
I assure you that if CCP held a "Lucky 9 winner contest where the person with the biggest mouth and most appealing to a virgin audience win a free holiday without any pretending that they have any say in anything at all" I wouldn't have abstained.
I assure you that if CCP are ever dumb enough to have an elected player council that actually really honestly genuinely gets to choose how Eve evolves, people will turnout and they won't be accepting attention seekers with massive mouths, they'll be insisting on quality people who have credentials that go way beyond how much crap they can spew about lowsec.
I assure you that if I couldn't afford my own holidays to destinations that I can choose for myself based on the choices I've made in my life, I would definitely dissemble a completely different view of the CSM and I would definitely be running crude populist threads to get me a free jolly to a North European freezehole.
I assure you that being able to see through thick swathes of marketing BS is better than not being able to. |

Those three reasons are excellent reasons to be thankful that the CSM has absolutely no power or authority to do anything, get anything done, or influence CCP in any way at all.
It's such a shame that we have to play this ridiculous charade every year to hand out these free holidays. Can't they just win awards from websites we've never heard of for sending people on holiday? We send hundreds of car thieves on holiday each year, but we don't pretend they're going to be working on vehicle design. We just hope they enjoy it more than stealing cars. |

Perhaps people with little time to read forums, and not much time to spend in-game, may not know many of the candidates. Perhaps those people saw the excellent candidate viewpoint matrix, filled it out to find matches, and voted based on the results?
Personally, I never knew there was an "Assembly Hall" forum, nor does it sound like something interesting to read through. Devblog comments, C&P, and General Discussion tend to be entertaining enough for my limited forum time. I'm used to mudslinging at election time, so I tend to ignore such things (like the Alt person who was flamed in a couple C&P threads).
I didn't vote, but I did look at the matrix. Ankh was one of the top matches for me, but not by much. None of the candidates really matched my viewpoints all that well. The main reason I didn't vote is that I don't know any of the people, and I'd rather make no vote than an uninformed vote. I'm a bit jaded by hearing campaign promises and then watching them be ignored once the official has been elected.
A lot of the game needs a lot of work, including the new click-fest going live today. If the current crop of candidates can convince CCP to spend time on some of these issues they might not concern themselves with otherwise, then I think that's a win for the playerbase.

That is precisely the sentiment that caused people not to vote for the people representing support for more ill-feeling- causing agendas like that.
Alienating the non-gankers is a very apt way to lose votes....
The odds of an EVE player having both a girlfriend and one that plays EVE...well let's just say it's up there with the universe deciding that existence is highly overrated and correcting the mistake |
