(much snippage) A lot of the game needs a lot of work, including the new click-fest going live today. If the current crop of candidates can convince CCP to spend time on some of these issues they might not concern themselves with otherwise, then I think that's a win for the playerbase.
First off - Congratulations to all the new crop of Councilors. I made my run for a position, but at least 14 players are better-known, more articulate with their campaign platforms and/or are better liked. For my full reaction, check out http://www.e271.net/~greymouse
Secondly, many of us - including several of the winning candidates - made slowing CCP down and making corrections and improvements to the current game a priority. Great as it is to have fancy bells and whistles, it is better to have a game that is rock-solid and intuitive to play. CCP has granted stakeholder status to the CSM. I hope that the present batch of CSM members make strengthening the game their priority too.
Again, Congratz to the new CSM members. It was a good run.

I think another Hulkageddon is in order....
That is precisely the sentiment that caused people not to vote for the people representing support for more ill-feeling- causing agendas like that.
Alienating the non-gankers is a very apt way to lose votes....
There is no such thing as "non-gankers". Only people who fail to see the uniqueness and the real apeal of EVE, and want there to be a "safe area" and a "PVP area" like there is in every other run of the mill MMO. Hulkaggedon is an example of why EVE truly is a sandbox, and why its player base wins the game awards. Just because you want to mine, doesn't mean I don't get to shoot you. As far as losing votes, the former pirate & criminal, now mercenary, and avid PVPer Mynxee still got the most votes.
Congrats nonetheless, to the winners.

Yay, Mynxee for president. Congratulations. Now to some lowsec-love.... And why is there still nothing that sets content apart from signature? Is that intentional or technically imposible? |

Congratulations to all the winners, looks like I have a lot of work to get in contention for CSM6 ;-)
I'm seriously glad that Mynxee made council chair, it means we won't have a bunch of people whining that the chairperson achieved their position through questionable campaign tactics. Less controversy should translate to more real work. Vote Illectro for CSM5! Supporting the New Generation of Eve Players |

Congratulations to the members of CSM 5. I see many familiar faces - Vuk, Diedra, Ankem..Eva should be a good crew. Good luck in being the first CSM to sit for a 1 year term, and for several of you, the longest total period in the guiness book of records ;).

30 8598 21.80%
21.80% of the TOTAL VOTES by 30 day old characters
I trust CCP checked those accounts were not all biased towards one particular voter as that would be suspisious, would it not?
I also do wonder what the results would be if the votes were scaled per number of days so older characters scored more of a vote, proportional voting by time spent playing. Be interesting how those results pan out; Some great data mining opertunities there.
But back to my main concern that 1/5th of the votes were from new accounts. Too me that raises alot of questions and concerns.

I voted for TeaDaze because his name reminds me of the Shpongle song "Around the World in a Tea Daze" that I once listened to while I was tripping on acid.
I honestly couldn't find a more valid reason upon which to base my vote so I chose him. -----

I'm a fan of Shpongle and liked the pun in that song title so named my character after it. But I wasn't tripping on acid

Wow. So much negativity. Impressive posting history; you seem to have issues.

So the Ankdumbuglyaghah got elected. Good thing she did it only for her pathetic resume and for a free trip, I am confident the rest of CSM will tell her to STFU if she ever decides to show her yellow crooked teeth. _______________________ We come for our people! |

You know what - your right >=30<=250 - hehe; Would be nice to have a more ganulur breakdown. Though still worrying that alot of the vote % was from the somewhat younger player base. Still, not a bad selection of people, but time will tell. I would love to have the datamining access to the votes though, lots and lots of things would love to know in a finer detail of what if's and the like.

Hello Alt. Contact your almighty CSM rep. He can get me banned with a mere thought.
Actually he can't that's the point. Go whine your alty alt whine to somebody else, fanboying for a limited company is pretty lol, shame you made an alt to do it, we'd all love to know who the weak tearful little fanboy is.

Now that a third of the CSM is dutch, when can we expect a dutch language version of EVE? ;-)
(not that I will touch it, but it might be useful for folks that don't read/speak/write English on a daily basis)
On a different note, with the amount of vitriol that has been spilled, both between CMS members and forum posters, why not organize a CSM fight club as the first issue on the agenda. The kind of fight with those huge padded sumo suits and padded batons, let the CSM members exhaust themselves first with that before you leave them alone in a small room with sharp objects (pens & pencils). Film the darned thing and post it online, we want to see who is the badassest of them all ;-)

Just wanted to shoot a congrats out to the new delegates, especially Mynxee... dayum nj girl!
I am very pleased with 88.9% of the winners, from my dealings with them in campaigning, they are reasonable and dedicated players, and will do well with this position. In fact, I think this is probably the best council to date. I got 775 votes, still a lot by many standards for a relative nobody, but obviously not enough for this monster of an election. Intense! I'll give it a go again next year, god willing.
Congrats mates again for your hard work, but it doesn't stop here. Now lets see some progress! I'll be watching intently to see the fulfillment of some of those campaign promises (and keep praying that EVE won't 'take too much care'...) ---

Good to see that all the people I put votes in for made it to the top ten, gratz to all.
Further, it seems like the Ankh "smear" campaign had the desired effect. Gratz to all involved.

Yeah it looks like her spamming in mission hubs with outright lies "Vote for me to stop the CSM from moving L4's to lowsec" to people whom probably didn't even read that thread, nor even knew who Ankh was, was successful. ---

Originally by: OP The gender difference between voters was something that seemed to have quite some difference, with male voters being 96.9% and female voters being 3.1% of the total voting population. This is compared to the 96% male and 4% female ratio of the player base, indicating that male users were more likely than female users to vote in this election.
...or possibly just that the average number of accounts for males is larger than for females?
