Do people really run missions? Those are boring!
I'm glad mission profit got wrecked.
I'm no economist, but won't this make the game economy function more realistically?
Thanks CCP!
Wow , i just have to quote on this.
Now who do you think has the 3-10 Billion isk ships? mission runners. They are the ones who constantly buy on the market , because they are also the ones who fight in alliance wars and therefore need the skills and so on. Now their income has been shot to bits. meaning alot less income , and therefore no more large buyout's on ship equipment in game. If you have not noticed that should be 50% of market cantent= ship equip. So missionnears will now blitz and stop loot/salvage operations altogther skyrocketing prices for salvage , since no1 will do any salving anymore making slavage goods rare. Ships will not be bought on a "hamster" basis , meaning eatch runner has 25 ships in his bay , because he can or wants to , now it will most likely be on a "need" basis . Either dramaticly increasing/decreaing ship cost , depending on time between purches of ship , in the beginning it will most likeyl be a increase , after that a steap decrease since nobody will be buying ships anymore. Next part is the missioners can't just change from mission running to going industiral due to Atributes and skills. Most mission runners don't have any industy skills and their attributes are distributed to perception and maybe intelligence to increase the learing speed of combat skills [I for instance have 31.9 Points in Perception and 27.5 Points in intelligence all others are at 22Points (skills x 1.1 for learing , all learning skills at 5)]
Now as you mentioned your not a economist . But I think you see the picture if not ... WOW than you must be blind. This Update did not only increase the wealth of the industrials , it even kicked the other branch in the cr*tch.
I don't think any missioner would have complained if this had been a industrial pure update as log as we don't get scre*ed over . But this is unexceptable.
I hope I stated what most mission runners feel without sounding whiny or agrresive , but Plz ppl who say "I'm so happy i get to exploit a new area cause I'm an industrial , don't know why the others are *****in" look at it from our perspective too.

Looks good - would it be possible to set a time zone on the Calendar so I'm not trying to figure out that Wednesday at 11 PM Central is really Thursday morning GMT?

For the people that play in window mode and have the window with the size of the screen, this area in window in not visible!!!! is always hidden because the toolbar of the window on the top pushed the window down. The result is that I not even know I had a calendar inside the game until my corp mate ask me why I didn't accept the meeting request and told me where that is. Since it is out of the mouse range and the window cannot be pushed up, because windows doesn't allow, I had to change to full window, press the button, and put it back to window mode... this will be something I will not do in the future, so that window/functionality will not be used by me since I can't see it/access it in window mode! After some conversations, I discovered that half my corp mates also have the same problem... since we all play with alts, with 2 monitors we have to play in window mode... so calendar will be a almost dead feature to us, we cannot use what we cannot see!
use evemons relocator for that

What worries me is how they're doing their development as of late..
When the PI changes were announced, there were dev teams who *did not know* about it. They were :amazed: etc..which sounds fun, but would scare the **** out of me as a Software Engineer. It's not like the offshoot teams are developing stand-alone products, or stand-alone plugins. Everyone is playing in the same code sandbox..and you have teams making radical changes to the code and not communicating. Then they wonder why this team **** all over server performance..
It's enough to almost volunteer for a year and go in with a "best practices" bat to their procedures.
Maybe they knew all along and it was just for the benefit of the dev blog to seem edgy..i hope that's the case. But i think it isn't..and i think i should buy a copy of the Mythical Man Month for every CCP Dev. CCP, How many copies should i buy, and where should i mail them to make sure they can be distributed to every single developer? |

I think Anon on kugu nailed the head on this one:
"Go batting!
You're not the only one who is fearing for the future. This stuff started to get real noticeable in Dominion, but it might have started earlier. My bet is that the WoD development has drained CCP of their most competent staff, and they're stuck with a green team."

Starbase Structures, Sovereignity Structures, and Outpost components. They can be a bit hard to find in the market category of the blueprints.

OMG. I go to log in and the maximum number of players has been reached and I am number 11 in line to play. I pay to play the game and am being prevented from playing the game. This is bull. If people pay money to play the game, they expect to be able to play the game, not be told, play some other time.

I agree, the signs are not reassuring. There have been a lot of messages from people who could not install the new client at all. I had the same problems on my new Win7 system. Checking the boards, I saw lots of complaints from users of 64-bit Windows. The installer is obviously not 64-bit safe - I had several illegal memory accesses, including a NULL reference!
Making software for a 64-bit OS is not cutting edge any more, and failing at that task in 2010 is inexcusable.
I resorted to do the install on my old 32-bit P4-system (also running Win7 Ultimate). Since that computer can no longer run EVE because of the display adapter, I then moved the installed folder to the new system. While it works, it also crashes a lot. I suspect that the attempts to address memory outside the application is caused by the same lack of proper testing as for the installer.

I echo the sentiment here as well. I've had nothing but crashes, clients freezing & bluescreens since installing the client on my 64 bit Win7 system. It doesn't matter if I'm running a single client or multiple. The bottom line is it isn't stable on 64 bit. That begs the question of professionalism and communication within QA and CCP itself.
Further, I have a big issue with the PVE nerfs. For a game that markets itself as a sandbox for all types of players with all types of professions, this nerf was absolutely hypocritical to your marketing and game play. The players that prefer the PVE to PVP will eventually leave since you've hamstrung their income. Further, PVE was something to fall back upon when you got sick of the PVP and needed to rebuild. Without the fallback, you again risk losing paying subscribers. Higher turnover in player subscriptions limits sustained growth for your product. Sounds to me like you didn't think of the consequences to your marketing plan here. Maybe you were too busy thinking up another classless music video. Again, this harkens back to professionalism.
Do yourselves a favor and restore the loot tables to what they were previously.

The Music video would be classy *if* CCP was kicking ass and taking names in their development. Since they aren't, it's become a mocking point.
*IF* CCP kicks it up a notch..stops acting like a bunch of wet-behind-the-ears developers and actually kicks ass and takes names..*then* the playerbase wouldn't be a bunch of increasingly bitter and vocal people.
Patch comes, patch is deployed, lag is *not* fixed. No update, no word, nothing.
What happened CCP? Did you fire all your devs and now have a bunch of 30k a year developers? You guys were rocking all the way up until Dominion...you *do* realize this right? Apoc actually fixed the lag..1000v1000 was possible, 300v300 was nightly.
I'm planning on securing my Mothership..then i'm unsubbing my accounts until lag gets fixed or CCP puts out a 'top-to-bottom' 'for the software-engineers out there' blog.
You guys have ****ed up somewhere, and this patch reaks of hubris.

- Volume of ambient sound in stations will decrease after 90 and 180 seconds to make idling in stations less noisy.
May I ask why you made this mandatory for all? I like my station sounds (yes, I am not at an amarrian station...), but now after a little while the client falls dead silent while browsing the market, fitting ships etc. In my view this kills a lot of atmosphere...
Would you think about a tick box in the audio options so we can choose if we want to activate this feature or not, please?
btw, spinning ships without sound is boooring

Not sure if anyone else got this, and I know it's still in beta, but I logged into Evegate for the first time today. I like it, except for the fact that my character pic is way wrong...it's not even close to a Gallente male. I've yet to find anyway to change it, and figure it's automatic.
It's not a huge issue, compared to other listed issues, just one of them things my corp has instantly taken to using.
Any info on it would be peachy.

<<The waste factor for all Tech III blueprint copies has been changed to 0. This is a non-functional change.>> Its an extract from Patch note.
It may be a 'non-functional' change for whoever wrote this but i notice that building T3 hull really needs less components after the patch - 8 Fullerene intercalated sheets instead of 9 - 15 Metallofullerene plating instead of 17 and 20 Nanowire composites instead of 22. So the 10% waste factor is gone. Doesnt seems 'non-functional' at all.

Is it true that 99% of lvl 5 missions are moved to low-sec? And you DID NOT say about it in the patch notes?
Quote: Agents & Missions
* Several missions have been changed so that they no longer use commodities for cargo that are also used in Planetary Interaction. * Basic Courier Missions have been changed so that cargo size and travel distance is consistent between factions and agent levels. * "Serpentis Drug Outlet 1/10" will now require the gate key to enter the final room. * Most Station Ruins structures have been resized and many dungeons received some minor adjustments. * ôKeeping Crime in Checkö mission has been re-balanced and now requires 3 bronze tags instead of 10. * The distribution of the missions ôAvenge a Fallen Comradeö, ôBreak Their Willö and ôRetributionö was adjusted. * The mission ôThe Search Party (2 of 2)ö is now working as intended. * "Starting Simple" text has been corrected for the post-Apocrypha UI. * "Attack the Angel Hideout" objective text has been restored.
Who are you making this game for?
Whose idea was it? Large alliances from 0.0? Or Council of Stellar Management made of large 0.0 alliances? (3394 'reads' so for 'New Dev Blog: CSM5 Election -- The Results Are In!' - it seems that people are not interested).
WTF happened to lvl 5? And why did you do it so secretly?

I completely second this.
ISK must be generated somewhere in order for the supposed "cycle of life" which definitely also includes ISK to be working properly. Cutting down one single branch of eve (i.e. the mission runners) will not be of any benefit; definitely not for the missioneers and ,more medium term, not even for hardcore pvp'ers (less noobs to shoot at in their innocently expensive failfit pve ships).
As such fix this!

Lol... Sandbox? They have just turned it into quicksand... And will soon be killing off a lot of subscribers with the mission nerf. A lot of people used missions to pay for plex's so they don't have to pay for there subscriptions personally. And others bought plex's to pay for... what? Oh that's right... expensive PvE ships for High Sec use ONLY!!!
So with the plex's and income both being messed up... I think a lot of even long time players are going to have to start actually paying for their subscriptions again. From the way they have been talking so far, doesn't sound like they will for the moral reasons of "they haven't had to pay in years"
Not saying everyone does this as I don't really know how the 0.0 alliances work. But in Empire space... most the income comes from missions.
CCP... Not everyone wants to go to 0.0! Why are you trying to force us out of the career paths we have been specializing in for months/years?

indeed,it's safe to say that things are this way but what seems to be the most ***ed up thing is that after almost 400 posts in this topic i didn't see yet ONE answer from some bored ccp guy to atleast say something like "stfu u noobs,u don't know anything about eve and what we, the smart ones, are trying to do to accommodate all u poor subscribers(sigh)". from my point of view a corporation that sabotages its paying customers is on its way to bankruptcy.i've already sold one of my chars and after the subscription ends on my other ones i'll sell'em as well and go play something else or not play anything at all,eve took enough of my time already and seems to end in disapointment. i think 90% of the posts in here are against the loot nerf and such and that would say something to anyone with decent marketing skills(not many of them in ccp it seems thou:P);let me spell it out for u guys:u're about to lose tons of subscriptions. oh,and tx for ur most sensitive and fast reply CCP! :)) don't bother guys, sell ur chars while u can get a decent enough price for them and go to greener pastures:)

i'll raise this by saying that those who have been specializing in what i'll call simply "high-sec ISK generation" (excludes traders and industrialists since they don't care much about either shiny pew-pew pve or pvp ships)"have been let go" (fired; /me looks over shoulder hoping not to see HR crawl up his butt).
Now i ask you people, who is gonna be buying the faction mods and drops from 0.0? who's gonna fill your 0.0 wallets? who is gonna fill the ninja looters wallets? i mean who is actually still gonna think about shooting a ninja looter for the 3 ISK worth of loot they are susceptible of taking? and that's not even talking about the fact that 99% of all border agents are now giving out the missions in low-sec or even null.
Either keep it sandbox, or don't sell it as such anymore.
N.B. From a legal perspective, selling a product which does not correspond to what you say it is dear CCP, opens the door for legal action; just a heads-up.
