Greetings, I need a litte info about neural remapping ; from Evelopedia :
" Each new character will start with two free neural remaps as a virgin mind. These remaps can be used at the pilot's discretion and do not require a one year waiting period."
Does that mean that if i create on a new char on a existing account tomorrow, I can use the first 2 neural remap at any given time, be it in 5 or 6 months by example ?

Yes. And as far as I know, on your characters 1st birthday, you'll have a remap available.

Incorrect. You will get another remap exactly 360 days after you use your SECOND remap on new characters. ---

This is how I understand the system works^. I don't believe you can "save up" remaps, so the count down starts when you use your last available one. Very much like jump clones in that you can't jump twice in a row even if you haven't jumped for a couple days.

Edited by: DarkXale on 28/05/2010 10:38:12 New character *Free Remap* - Triggers no timer. *Normal Remap* - Triggers 365(?) day timer.
*Normal Remap* - Triggers 365(?) day timer.
*Normal Remap* - Triggers 365(?) day timer.
Basically, your very first remap won't trigger a timer. All others will. This allows you to make two remaps just after the character has been made, if you want to.

Thanks for the correction. I wasn't sure about the second part of the question, that's why I started off by saying, "And as far as I know"

Why then evepedia says that we can use 2 timer free remap as young char ? my understanding was that only after the second remap has been used, you re on 1 year cycle ?
Am I missing something ? thanks

Relatedly: how do you use one? I was playing around with EVEMon today at work (I'm a bad employee), and it suggested I throttle two stats based on my intended training, it will save me about 39 days over a year of training. That's pretty substantial.

Goto Character Sheet ( 1st icon on top ) ==> Attributes tab ==> there is a button written Remap now . Press it then you have the remapping screen

A new character gets 2 remaps to start with, once you've used those 2 remaps, you have to wait 1 year before you can remap for the 3rd time.
Then 1 year between each remap after that. the 1 year timer begins when you complete each remap.

Just to be completely sure:
- I started playing about two months ago - I did one neural remap
If I do one more right now, when will I be able to do the third one?

I have a related question: Does the first fire-and-forget remap ever expire? (Like at the 1.6M SP barrier or after a year)

no - if you don't use it you can still use 2 in quick succession --

Thanks to this thread i¦ve made my first neural remap, assuming that i can change it again whenever i want and have THEN a 1 year waiting time.
Unfortunately i already have 1 year wait time after my first remap. Kinda sucks, i guess. So why is the information in this thread wrong? Has it been patched since then?

If you plan on using your 1st neural remap, I'd suggest you max out your Memory and w/e else is left in Intellect. Do your tutorials get some Isk and purchase learning books from the Market. And once you get most of those skills to 4/5 or 5/5 use the second remap. If you can get someone to lend you some Isk it would be ideal because you could get the advanced learning books, and in the long run you'll be better off. I would not worry about implants, unless you decide to purchase Plex's with real money. |

Or more accurately, for characters created after this change came into effect, or about 2 years ago I think.

So the conclusion is, characters which have been created before this change has been made, can only do 1 remap and then have to wait 1 year.
For all those, who read this and have no clue, like me :)
Yeah ive putted it all into int and mem...
