Try the My EVE forum section, you will have better luck there. If you look hard enough you might even find it yourself. __________________________________________________

Wow those are some nice drawings. But to be honest, they look very Caldari. I don't look at them and think Minmatar. (Especially the Typhoon)

I'd say Caldari is the last race that that comes to mind when looking at those ships, they look more Gallente-ish I say. Maybe the federation got tired of sending reinforcements to aid the poorly build matari ships againts the amarr and commissioned a group of engineer to help improve they're ships. 1. Welding parts together is better ducktaping them

I really, really liked the look of that Typhoon concept. The only problem with the Phoon currently is that it looks like a rusty flying PVC connecting joint.
An awesome design like that could make it overpowered...

I think I first saw these a few years ago. They're still nice - but not as awe inspiring as the first time I saw them.

Those are pretty badass. But TBH I'm pretty fond of the Typhoon and the Tempest (because of Clear Skies). Although I guess if they were to be redone in the future I'd understand the people upset over the new scorp. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

YES PLEASE. I will miss the old Tempest model should it ever be upgraded, but that concept art looks so much better then duct ape and rust.

I always thought it looked like "The Doomsday Machine" in the old Star Trek Original series, the one that eats planets. Its got that large, cavern like mouth in the front.

they're nice, but just.....too solid for minmatar. they need more fragile struts and shabbiness imho.

Wow. Those concepts are incredible looking.
To those who are naysaying due to design, the concepts don't have much texture and the rugged/rusted metal surfaces could be added. There's a lot of potential there really. Imagine a hurricane texture on that Typhoon. After so many years with the old designs, they all could really do with some spit and polish. I'm not saying a complete overhaul, but something similar (holding with the theme) with more focus on asthetics would be awesome.
I'd like to see more concepts of different designs of the other empires too...

"Should" look like? That's a pretty impressive Vigil, I'd say.
Also these aren't concept art of redesigns. If you bother to look, they're both from 2007, way before Tyrannis and Scorpion remodel was a blink in CCP's eye.. The creater of those isn't in anyway affiliated with CCP either. It's just fan art, what someone would like them to look like. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nice drawings-but I wouldn't want to see Minmatar looking anything like that. Minmatar ships have their own very unique look, and have a lot more character than those comparatively bland concepts. You don't have to love them, but for goodness sake don't try to change them.

alredy saw them and personally i will like a restyle in this direction...
also i disagree about the fact that minnie ships should look crap, lot of people consider the hurricane or minnie caps as the best looking minnie ships and these drawing are made with that style.

Unfortunately, rather than address the slot layout/tanking issues for Minmatar the Devs have simple declared that it makes us "versitile".

Agreed. Hurricane style is way to go for overhauling Minmatar ships and those two drawings posted above are definately following its line: robust, sharp edged rusty beasts with the mandatory wingy things.

I think these look absolutely fantastic.
Besides, weren't the minmatar designs original just quickly thrown together (as far as ship building goes anyway) during the Minmatar rebellion?
Now that they're not *as* pressured to build a fighting force so quickly, wouldn't it make sense that they have the time to go back over their designs and smooth them out to match the llok of ships that came later, like the Hurricane and Loki? |
