Just curious, because when I log back in, I am decloaked.

When you log off you leave the game so it doesn't matter if you are cloaked. When you log in all modules are deactivated so you would have to recloak.

Isn't there a waiting period before your ship disappears? Will it remain cloaked during that period?

I did not check, but I guess it depends on the kind of ship. If it's a CovOp/Bomber/Recon that can warp cloacked it MAY stay cloacked. MAY. It really depends if all modules are deactivated upon the disconnect warp or if only those that are normally deactivated by a warp are deactivated.

You stay cloaked when you logoff until the point your ship leaves the game (all modules stay active). You can still be uncloaked by another ship or moving within 2 km of something until your ship leaves the game. When you login, you are uncloaked as all modules are inactive.

afaik, you only stay cloaked until the server recognises that you have disconnected.
If you close the client, this is immediately. If you lose connection somehow (e.g. pull network cable), then it takes the server ~1-2 mins to realise that you've lost connection and log you off.
From this point, you decloak and then emergency warp as normal, with aggression as applicable.

Is this 100% true? I had someone sitting on my tactical when I got disconnected (so he could see my decloak then e-warp). Luckily I was quick on the cloak and he was ~25km away so I could get out...otherwise that would be a sucky way to lose a ship.
I would get in the habit of going to a safe spot before logging if you log off in space, especially in hostile areas. If you get disconnected, it may work...sometimes it may not.
As for your question, all your modules deactivate when you disappear from space. This also includes shield extenders, so it may seem like you took some damage. I forgot to mention that you are in fact reading something that is called a signature. |

I verified with other accounts:
* Shield booster - stayed active. * Shield hardeners - stayed active. * Prototype Cloak - went inactive when the ship warped. * Covert Cloak - went inactive when the ship warped.
