And it won't ever patch. That build was found to have a fault and it was only deployed to Sisi as a shortterm thing. Copy your TQ folder and use the TQ to latest Sisi patch on the patch page, it's not even 10MB in size.
Frustrating? Sure. But it's a test server and these things will happen.

Wow, its lines like these which make me wonder why I ever bother wasting my time turning up to mass testing. You could of at least made a simply apology like "We slipped up on a previous build, we're sorry for the inconvenience and hope you will continue helping us with our tests.

You should know by now that ccp is operated by a bunch of arrogant pricks that think their stuff don't stink and they can do no wrong.
CCP Thinking: Customer relations? We don't need no customer relations! They need us more than we need them!

On days with announced mass testing autopatcher has always worked.

The person who made a fool of themselves is you. Mastiff was making a comment on the rudeness of a CCP employee. Something that seems to be more and more common with them these days. Perhaps they have gotten so full of themselves they need another mass quitting to remind them that they need us more than we need them.
Their attitude towards the people that pay their wages reminds me of why I frequently take breaks from the game. I keep coming back hoping the 'CCP Tude' has changed for the good, but each time I only see that it has gotten worse, and more arrogant.
I deal with enough pricks at work. The last thing I want is to have to deal with a game company employee acting as if they have never heard of polite customer relations.

It's kinda like in the movie Sixth Sense... If everyone around you seem to be pricks, perhaps... just perhaps it's not them, but you.
CCP Atrophos said it as it is; stuff like that happens with the test servers so deal with it.

Perhaps, just perhaps, I know what I am talking about when it comes to people I have to deal with at work. I work in a customer relations driven industry, and I have to be polite, and understanding with people all the time, even when my strongest desire is to reach out and shake some sense into them when they are being incredibly dense.
If I responded to a customer like ccp does very frequently, I would be out of a job.
So perhaps, just perhaps, I am dead on the money with my assessment of CCP attitude towards their customers. Test server or not, a polite response to a reasonable question goes a long way towards keeping customers happy, and willing to help.

My response wasn't impolite, it was terse, perhaps too much so, but it reiterated the fact that test builds being deployed to a test server, can't always be guaranteed to work.
This wasn't a "mistake" as some seem to believe, but an actual decision made by myself about the build. At the time it was created, it was deemed invalid, and so a new build was undertaken. In the interim, the 'bad' release candidate build was deployed onto Sisi. Because people are always berating us about the lack of access to the test server, patching for that build was enabled and people logged onto Sisi.
I fully understand and appreciate that it's frustrating to invest time into an undertaking and then find out that to repeat that undertaking, at a later date, you've got to redo some or all of the initial work (in this case setting up the Sisi client and patching). Certainly the communication of our patching strategy is definitely something we should improve, but at the same time it's a test server, liable to be the recipient of broken, unstable, in flux code and as such any and all work, whether it's setting up the client, or simply gathering some sort of data from the server itself (ie: scouting for planetary resources or what have you) should be done in the knowledge that it could all suddenly disappear.

I guess we're not going to see that magic S word? Just that you understand its frustrating? Seems like you're trying hard to avoid saying Sorry. We know its a test server however we would appreciate something called politeness for a simple, quick and painless apology. We do after all give you lag on demand on the test server!
"Sorry for the inconvenience" would suffice. I will imagine you have already said it and it will be included in the next patch notes
-Customer Relations update "We understand its frustrating" has now been changed to "Sorry for the inconvenience" -Weapon Systems Rofklets have now been fixed.

CCP run this test server out of their own time. They could easily shut it down permanently and open it only when they need you for testing, be grateful they do this for us and stop being an ignorant ****...

Well the people who were using Sisi at the time and who had just updated for the patch they released then found out they had to re-install a new copy of Sisi so that they could re-patch it again twice. Not an inconvenience to you? Considering we test for free? Perhaps some sympathy from them? No ? Ok

Ex/Wanna-be Goon? Tantrum? Rich coming from you
So... basically test server is free for us to use they apparently don't need us on it according to some of you. However whenever they want anything testing they expect 500 pilots to jump of TQ to test out the new changes which doesn't include Roflkets. So its either people play on Sisi to iron bugs for those who don't bother otherwise we'll get an expansion with even more ****ed up issues than normal.

Lets just pick this extract from your line here.
Quote: and open it only when they need you for testing
Oh it always needs testing, a lot of bugs are ironed out on the test server by people who are willing to spend time on it rather than TQ. Who apparently aren't required? The "Need" part is more amusing to hear you say though...
At the end of the day all I am asking for via an apology is that CCP don't take their paying customers for granted when it comes to our time we invest for free into the test server. However carry on brown nosing as you wish.

Oh crap, you are saying they had to copy/paste their TQ version of Eve into a singularity folder and then install an 8 Megabyte patch. That must minutes, surely, MINUTES.

Im continuing to look for an answer for this as i type, but-
Im looking for instructions on how to get a seperate eve client running sisi on OSX.
-I copied my eve client and renamed it something different. when i downloaded the 'patch' it didnt ask me where to apply it to, it just installed another full version of the current build. -I realize now sisi and tq are the same build, but the only other instructions i have found are here "Test Server: Information Listing!!" http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1108193 Which instruct me to change the .ini file. -But there seems to only be one pref folder for all my eve client copies, so i'll have to swap the .ini file every time i want to switch between sisi and tq?

Do not mix a reply from a two day old thread, with the current build issues.

The links to the patch are broken (here and here). Also, the autopatcher always wants to update my main EVE installation, no option is given to select the install folder.
