I have played eve more than half a year now. It was somewhat confused me that I could not see what to do next dislike what obviously in other mmo-games. But then I found my way soon. I made my first billion from market and I am still doing it now.
A self-sufficient pilot should,of course ,take his way to the fights in the deep space. I thought. I joined a corp bought a pvp toon and ,I think,my grasp of fighting is not really bad. We roaming, sieging towers(it's really boring, the boringest) and join the massive battles. We killed lots (maybe not lots for you) ships even some capitals but then I suddenly feel it does not like a space war.
I feel the fighting range is too short, any fight ought to happen within the range of scrambers, even though they jumped in the bubble you still need someone to keep the scram. Then the ships, ours and enemy's, stiring in a mass and wait someone to explode,or yourself. We call it funny. Because I dont like to mention those "ten beat one" fights. It's sad.
In the bigger battles, things become worse. I joined some cap-fights just around the pureblind. Titans,MSs,carriers and DNs, gathered in to a sicking ball, with the bubbles, looking like many maggots floating in a water ball. Untidy, because tidiness does nothing. No escort fleets, they do nothing also. I watched the nice and exciting videos about the tyrannies patch. I am thinking what does the rifter(or a T2 one) could did? Taking some photos maybe.
I won't talking the lagging here. It is the technical stuff. I don't know anything about that.

Edited by: Ti''anla on 02/06/2010 10:43:15 Don't worry, as soon as we can divide our non-corporeal minds across all of space and inhabit the minds of a thousand stellar travellers locked in endless battle for control of the cosmos, I'm sure you'll be able to feel it just like a space war.

I think I know what you are saying and it would require a total rewrite to give us the first person shooter type controls to allow such things to happen.
Of course the second you do this some ***tard gets the computer to play for them in some misguided belief they are being clever. Sort of like the people doing 20 on the highway to conserve fuel.

I think you are wrong.
Eve is just like in the promo's. There is no lying involved. Everything gets re-iterated and excellence is our main buzzy word these days

I think short range would be good and quite cinematic if the golden rule of EVE combat wasn't 'focus fire'. -

Can't you find another way to slove that but rewrite the game?

Not really. You can see the fleets in the promo are tidy and mixed with many kinds of ships. Not the BSs+Caps one we currentusing which far from the expected real space war.
OK in a word. Most ships small than BS don't have their role or position in a big battle.

Real space war is really, really, really boring, normally followed by instant death, and then some more boredom. (You die so fast, it takes some time for you to realize that you're dead.) Check out the Atomic Rockets site for a reality check. It's a great read.

Tackle ships? But anyway, it was a newbie in a T1 ship who decloaked Shrike and directly lead to his first death.

The lose rule and skill system are awesome! I haven't seen any game like this before. But I did saw some games don't allow people shoot across another player.
