haters gonna hate is a roleplaying furry/Tim buckley fan corporation . we are mostly interested in highsec mining and being naive . if we got wardecced we would disband instantly. if you send isk to the corp account we will send back TWICE the amount.

I don't think it's wrong to like doing both. I actually tried a non EVE game that was all PVP and no PVE. Needless to say it didn't last because there wasn't anything to do to fill the time. Having a combination of both in a game is a great thing. If it's a slow day and your buddies aren't online you can still go out and do something.

doing PvE dosen't make you a carebear.
confining yourself to hi-sec, running missions or mining all day and absolutely refusing to venture outwards to anywhere you might be subjected to PvP, makes you a carebear.
there's a lot of PvE content that is far more lucrative than L4 missions. You could easily make a bil or more in a single day from a DED Plex, or by running sleeper sites in Wormhole space, or by soloing FW Missions but far too many people are so lazy they've pretty much confined themselves to their easy L4 hi-sec comfort zones and never bother to even try.

snooty poster reply to dev post.. check
some people actually want to play eve because their time isn't going to be spent sucking down roids to watch the excel spreadsheet that is your wallet expand until the next time you log off.

Indeed if you like to do both it certainly lets you maximise what you get out of (in terms of enjoyment) out of the game. One of the problems many have with playing MMOs is organizing people's schedules. Having somethng else to do as a back up plan is always good. One of EVE's strengths is the multitude of activities to do which can work with a multitude of available times to play, and lengths of times to play. --------------------------------- |

Did you know that Solitaire is by far the most popular PC game of all time? Some (read: many) people like mining precisely because of it's mind-numbing qualities.

Nope, you can have PvP and PvE. For instance I and a few friends spent the afternoon plexing in hostile space. PvE with a strong PvP element IMO. |

If I wanted only PVP I'd go play CS or unreal tournament (which I do on occasion). If I wanted only PVE I'd fire up torchlight. If I feel like chatting with random people I'll go join my favorite IRC server.
If I want to do all three at once I play eve.

Some people use sov null alts for isk. You dont see hostiles for weeks on end in some of those backwater systems. It's safer than empire, where some random idiot may decide to suicide gank your carebear fit.

Fixed.
A good mission raven kill usually drops enough isk to fund 2-4 pvp battleships.

Indeed it does and I salute you good sir for reminding pilots that nowhere in eve is safe after you hit the undock button. But ganking carebearmobiles isn't even a drop in the bucket against the the army of pve isk earning alts.

This should be the new marketing tagline for the game. Seriously. ---------------------------------------------- I don't have an alt, but there's a main that would be upset if he heard me say that... |

Once I get the skills necessary, I look forward to a little PvP.
I have two problems with PvP'ers right now:
1. A lot of the time, it isn't PvP, it's PvPPPPPPP. Some don't want an even fight, and want to drastically overwhelm you. 2. A lot of them seem to be locked in their ways, and degrade ANY other style of play. But I've run into some respectable ones.
