wouldn't call one better then the other... they're both excellent t2 cruisers... depends on what you want to do with it, who you fly with and how you like to fly... give some of those details and we can help you more Signature Removed, Broken link. Zymurgist |

You'll also get easy access to Guardians and Scimitars depending. Just train both, that's my plan anyways.... -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

I was faced with this same choice about a month ago. I trained Amarr for the Curse.

Both are very good options. I did amarr and love both the curse and pilgrim (not a zealot/sacralidge fan). The two amarr recons can completely shut down turreted ships that require cap for anything. The curse is also the last word in anti-frigate capabilities. 5x t2 frigates vs 1 curse is terribly one sided in favor of the curse.
The minnies have their wonder ship too though, the vagabond is the ultimate skirmish warfare ship. It's kinda squishy (as are all hacs) and lacks damage but it's about twice as fast as anything that can kill it and will murder anything that can keep up. It's specialty is blobbing weak targets and then running away. I have zero respect for vaga pilots but the ship does what it's meant to do very well.
The rapier is also very solid as a small gang/solo ship thanks to it's web range bonus. Much like the curse, it is able to dictate range and use the "death by a thousand pinpricks" method to take down targets solo regardless of how big and powerful they are. Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |

Edited by: arbiter reformed on 08/06/2010 20:24:36 if your recon inclined go amarr if you prefer hacs go minmitar,
the vagabond is just fantastic and although the zealot is great it got hit pretty hard in pulse form with the locus nerf imo, its still probably the best snipe hac tho. i also really like the sac but thatl mean training missiles muninn is more or less on par with the zealot for sniping, the only thing with amarr c5 is the curse is pretty cool.
also sleipnir is far better than abso

I had the problem once too. So I simply trained all of them. Now I can fly almost any sub capital ship in Eve on this character. Funnily enough though I'm almost exclusively flying a single ship, that doesn't even show up on killmails - unless I die.
Don't panic about making the wrong decision. Unless you fail at keeping your clone up to date no trained skill is a waste really. It's only more options to chose and waste your isk on. ---- Sarmaul's crosstrainorgtfo |

10 most recent loses - 4 megathrons, 2 maledictions, a guardian, a cane, a diemost and an eagle?
Hmmm
Also in the last 10 recon kills you used a malediction once, then eagle, diemost and a mega...you love them hybrids don't you

Yes, but it's too fiddly. Harder to get right.

Amarr:
Curse is a small gang/solo ship. And is awesome enough that people run from it, limiting its kill potential.
Pilgrim is basically a solo gank ship.
Zealot is a sniper at this point, and damn good at it. Look in to it. Problem though: it dies to frigates quite easily.
Sacrilege is an interesting ship in interesting hands. I'm rather surprised Kessah hasn't posted a fit or two. Missiles and a massive active armor tank make it rather unique.
Guardian is considered the best logistics ship by a wide margin for good reason. Both armor and cap transfer? Holywtfpwn. As long as you don't want to get on kill mails.
I can't even recall the name of the HIC. It has a cap reduction to turrets? I guess that's... the same bonus many other ships suffer through.
Legion is considered universally sub-par (and yeah, I know that's T3, but it's worth considering).
Minmitar:
Rapier and Huggin are gang ships. Webbing is nice but you really need to, you know, keep a ship from warping. Or else alpha it to death. But then again, that's also a Minmitar thing, so maybe go for it. Best used with an Arazu though.
The Vagabond (at least until the Cynabal boost) was considered the most unkillable skirmish cruiser in the game. And occasionally it could also kill something. It was awesome. Still is, really. It plays a unique fast cruiser role only filled by it and the aforementioned Cynabal.
The Munnin got a huge boost from the changes to projectile turrets. Now it's a first-rate sniper HAC.
Scimitar is considered the best logistics ship for fast gangs and for good reason. Boosting shields while being fast itself should be self-explanatory.
Broadsword might be the most versatile low sec HIC in the game, able to passive tank, do damage, and possibly not die.
Loki has been getting a bit of respect lately (ie, after the ammo changes). It's probably second best to the Tengu for PvE. And it really can chew targets if it gets in the right range.
Conclusion:
Meh. I have all four racial cruisers at 5. It really helps with flying pirate ships. Except that if you end up flying an Ashimmu you'd be better off in a Curse.
If you want to seriously gank, train Amarr. If you want to play skirmish games, train Minmitar.

Showoff. Not only a dual rep but a dual prop? I don't know exactly how I missed that on the first go round.
