1.) have a 1 man alt corp setting up POS's in highsec wherever you want. you don't need any defensive POS modules on them, they'll be indesctrutible, don't worry. just use all its CPU and power for labs, factories, or whatever you want. all you need is 25 hours of strontium in each POS. 2.) have an alliance of any size, could be a 1 man alt alliance even. 3.) as soon as your POS keeper corp is declared war on, apply to the aforementioned alliance, 4.) war will be active in 24 hours, at which point your corp will be in the alliance, nothing surprising thus far. 5.) now quit the alliance immediately. they'll be in war with the agressing corp for 1 week, the war with your alt corp however will end in 24 hours. 6.) let the attackers bash your POS until it goes reinforced. 7.) refill strontium bay after 25 hours in total safety, and keep on carebearing.
yes, we declared war on a corporation to liberate moons in a highsec system, and basically this is what happened, with slightly different numbers. apparently its all legit, feel free to abuse this obviously flawed game mechanic, or be annoyed by it. |

Of course this cunning plan relies on you logging in every day to make sure you've not been war-decced +_+

A less underhanded approach would be to off-line all the labs and other non-offensive modules, then use all the now free grid and CPU to fit lots of turrets and Ewar.
I'm mostly a carebear, and even I think that sucks. Still if enough people use it, it will probably be addressed... eventually.

Can you give examples of which 1-man corp does this "exploit"?

Confirming this is frowned upon by CCP. We had a corp dodge us through a few war decs using this tactic. CCP sent an official warning to the corp dodging. Private Nuisance Now Recruiting |

Confirming this. When a corp did this to me, we petitioned it and the gm basically said that them dropping alliance during a dec once was fine. But if they were to show a pattern of joining/dropping alliances to avoid wardecs, then they would get a warning for it.
This still doesn't make a highsec POS in an alliance any less invulnerable, but it's better than nothing. - - - Dian'h Might - C&Ps resident "internet kleptomaniac" |

Counters.
1. If you are in an alliance then you can leave it to extend the dec on the leaving corp.
2. Suicide gank the guys hauler when he offlines everything. __________________________

Haven't actually tested this, but how about:
When initially declaring war, pass two duplicate votes, then action only one of them. If they join/drop alliance, action the second vote. You should be able to time this so the new war goes live at around the same time their POS is vulnerable.

joining an alliance then leavign to shake a war dec is a KNOWN exploit.
****ers like you need to be shot!
hey at best its one way to get a cheap war dec on your alliance lol.
alt corp joins your alliance then leaves. they redec said corp who joins your alliance and leaves... Next to free alliance war decs. Go ahead and clap. Mediocrity deserves applause. Why don't we go find Pandemic Legion and clap around them! |

Just keep wardeccing the new corps/alliance that dodge, it cost 1 billion to create an alliance, frankly it would be cheaper to defend/lose some tower setups.
I don't see the problem, its a tactic and there is a counter to it.

btw, we filed a petition about it, and here's the answer we got from the GM:
Quote: Hello
When **** left their alliance you should still be at war with their alliance and also temporarily at war with the corp for the following 24 hours. No exploit was found here I'm afraid.

Yeah but you won't have any CPU left to fit labs, assambly arrays, etc, and a POS with this fit can still be destroyed, if the attackers have a strong enough fleet. |

just a thought: 1. anchor tower with labs and hardeners and jammers 2. online only the labs and carebear away 3. get wardecced 4. offline maybe even unanchor the labs 5. online the hardeners and jammers. 6. ??? 7. collect tears
I think for most people it is important to keep the tower anchored because of the standing grind. a few days lost in production is not much off an issue.
