Edited by: Manic Panic on 15/06/2010 23:56:45 I'm a pretty new player and I'm interested in getting into some low/null-sec pirating by my self. I am thinking of going for the Rapier or another Force Recon ship since they have the cloak bonus and seem to be pretty aggressive. I was wondering what are generally considered the best ships for solo pirating. |

Arazu... 50km point makes it very easy just to run away if things don't go your way.

Solo? Dramiels, Vagabonds and Cynabals, when you're solo it's all about speed.
Ohhh and sometimes a curse comes visit us, but the three mentioned above we see most.

The best ship for solo roaming, at least in nullsec, is without question the battlecruiser platform. They are the best compromise between tank, speed, damage and cost around, and I still mostly fly this shiptype when soloing.
It is critical that you invest the training time in T2 weapons before you attempt to solo, however.
I have had best results with the Harbinger and the Hurricane, though I am told others also like the Myrmidon and even the Drake.
A cloak is far less important than good instincts. -- Killed me? Read about it in my blog! Northern Lights: Solo PVP in EVE Online

A few off the top of my head
Battlecruisers: Hurricane (mobile) Harbinger (respectable tank and gank and can still throw neuts/cap booster in) Drake (Huge tank and good dps) Myrmidon (Insanely versatile)
Cruisers: Vagabond (can pretty much disengage at will) Cynnabal (like a Vaga but better) Curse (especially vs turret ships)
Frigates: Dramiel (hilariously overpowered) _________________________________

Ganking miners - stealth bombers, Curse hurts belt ratters a lot - personally lost a dual rep Absolution to a Cynabal recently (got under guns and bled me dry). If starting out give the Stabber a go, Abitrator's not bad, can mess people up with a tech one frigate and point if they're not expecting it.
Local's the key though. |

Hurricane <- Imperial Star Destroyer , except lightning fast. Train it. Spec it. Own.
