I laughed when he said what the surprise was and everyone was like "woo?, now seriously, whats the real surprise" and Gabe looked like he was expecting everyone to bring the house down cheering. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Still laughing. I remember making a thread on these very forums about a rumour that Episode Three was due christmas 2007. Oh how I learned from that experience.

Actually, it wasn't me that started the rumour. I was asking if it was true, to which someone responded "This is valve. It's never true" and i took that advice to heart. _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I have to say I enjoyed quite a bit from E3 this year. Main things that caught my eye;
Twisted Metal Portal 2 The First Templar Kid Icarus: Uprising Zelda: Skyward Sword Driver: San Francisco Commander: CotA Gran Turismo 5 The 3rd Birthday InFamous 2 Vanquish SOCOM 4 Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Metal Gear Soid: Rising (not really that interested in this one, it just looked entertaining with the slicing of a watermelon)

not so much a wii fanboy as i am a pc fanboy. but i did buy a wii soley for zelda
so, skyward sword baby! i can't wait nintendo had a slightly impressive lineup. After looking at the new goldeneye however, it's sad that they are so graphics limited.
the fact the old republic will be out next year does not bode well for my eve playtime. i can see myself losing LARGE blocks of time on that one "A game that is significantly nonlinear is sometimes described as being open-ended or a sandbox, and is characterized by there being no "right way" of playing the game." |

I did have a soft spot for the old Twisted Metal game on the Playstation, although to be fair, it dated very quickly. I loved that old Carmageddon game as well, so I like forward to any game that involves vehicular manslaughter in a creative and hilarious way.

My impressions on E3 and current state of game industry:
I'm done with all the f***ing recycling.
Innovate. Bring us new franchises. Stop showing us the same old garbage. At least give us clever spinoffs.
We don't need Halo 14 or Gears of War 52.
And we don't need rehashing of old "retro classics" either. The dead horse is beaten to a fine paste. (though a reimagining of something in a way that augments the original intent of the game in a way that wasn't available to the creator at the time... can be pretty cool)

QFT, even though I'm still looking forward to elite 4, damn you frontier and your crappy kinect(?) diversions
The games industry is pretty much dead, we'll be living off a diet of FPS's, fantasy MMO's with cartoon gfx, EA mediocrity for the next decade

The only mainstream thing I'm interested in is Fallout:New Vegas, to see wether or not the original developers can salvage something of value from the ****pile of Fallout3.
Otherwise, go Vicky 2!

Fallout 3 was more of a modding FPS platform than a Fallout game though.

Fallout 3 was amazing. Definitely in my top 10 of all time. I'm sure Vegas will bring both "schools" together though.

This, the day they combine Vicky, HoI, Supreme Ruler 2020 and Total War into one big sandboxy, historically plausible grand strategy empire building super timespan game I'm never leaving my house again.
