A few questions about taking down offline towers in W-space:
- How much damage needs to be done to take down an offline tower? Example: Gallente medium has 17.5 mil Shields, 4 mil Armor and 5 mil Structure. For an offline tower is it 9 million or 26.5 million?
- Can I take the total hit points divided by the amount of damage from each volley to calculate the number of torps required?
- The hull resists are listed as 99%. Does that really mean only 1% of the possible damage is inflicted on the tower?
- For a pair of stealth bombers using T1 torps, how many minutes, hours, days, do you think it would take to destroy the example Gallente medium tower?
- Is the target picture with damage bars for the Tower updated accurately?

1. I can't imagine the values would change.
2. After you factor in resistances, why wouldn't it work?
Whatever you are planning, whatever gains you could hope to gain from popping a tower it will most certainly not be worth it. It will take more torpedos than you have patience and cargo from 2 stealth bombers to take out a tower. You can not get what is inside a tower or what is inside the modules after you pick them up. If you want to pop Offline towers for profit, go fly through high-sec and find offlined towers near moons. They will do just fine.

If the tower is offline it doesnt have any shields so its just the 9 million, as soon as you get structure bleed on the tower its structure resistance drops to 0 so ignore that.
As for the time factor, can't answer that it depends on skills/fit but put it this way, make sure you have a dvd worth watching and a badger nearby with spare torps.

Offline means the forcefield bubble goes down, it will still have full shields. so 26+ mil HP to chew through

No, you must count in possible resistances if you can't exploit a 0% resist hole AND the natural recharge of shields that works same way as in ships. Medium tower can tank about 400dps just by natural recharge on it's peak (30-35% shields).

Those resists only count against offensive/defensive modules.

Way too long, you'd run out of torps many, many times.

Yes, but depending on your resolution the bar might be something like 60 pixels wide, meaning it won't update on every procent.

Fundamental difference: Shield != Force Field. The tower still has shields.. just no force field.
