ąscary thought: will it or won't it work with Incarna? We've already seen some short clips showing things off ł question is if was done with that program or the hard way. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

Maybe not, since the person who made Clear Skies 1 & 2 works for CCP these days.

There is already the program called TriExporter that can be used with other 3d Modeling and rendering software

Yeah but you wont get the effects and in general it'll look very different. But it is a start. There have been cool movies already which just used models and did everything else themselves e.g. Future Proof

What ho folks
Me working for CCP is the first I've heard of it, and I didn't do any presentation, sorry
Having the Jessica tool would actually slow down the production of CS3 because the external shots were actually the fastest thing to produce, due to the limitations of the camera in game and the fact it's all "live". The shots weren't that adventurous because I had to plan around these limitations - the fleet battle sequence was recorded in 6 hours flat, as those who graciously showed up to assist may remember.
Now, if I had access to the Jessica engine, I'd go mad and plan some crazy stuff, and that would take weeks to create, tune, and record. Of course, the end results would be worth it
Also, from the little I know, it's a dev tools written for one thing and shanghai'd into something else (producing animation), and this means it'd be a bit of an undocumented and slightly wobbly nightmare to work with unless you were very close to the creators. And at the end of the day it'll be stuffed with proprietary code that's highly sensitive and confidential to CCP, so releasing it to the world in general just isn't going to happen. The dev time involved in making a sanitised-yet-still-useful version would also be prohibitive when that time could be better spent working on Eve itself. That's the real world, alas.

I think you may have got the action-shoots from the last one mixed up with the action-shoots from the last darkest days movie, a fairly easy mistake to make seeing how both have pretty stuff going on :p |
