Now I know how to "kite" targets and slowely pick em off. thats not the problem. but some missions have a big "one" unit to kill like the mission where ya gotta wait a minut for a single buff pirate ship to pop up.
My Executioner can't seem to beet down his armor no matter what, it regens faster then I can hit. I've tried "allot" but maybe you guys can help me figure something out.
So T1 Executioner, HIGH SLOTS 2x second best T1 pulse lasers, 2x imperial navy infrared S, MID SLOTS 1 afterburner so I don't get hit, 1x web. and some speed for lows.
Rigs, Dynamic Fuel valve, Energy blaster rate of fire upgrade and a tracking speed upgrade.
I can circle the target for ever but i'm doing barely any damage on this guy :( and its a T1 mission >_<

Mission briefing Head for your assigned patrol sector coordinates. Wait there and destroy any enemy ships that show up. Make sure none of them escape!
Objective Wait for a gallente recon ship and then destroy it.
and yes I will love you for any help! in a non gay way...

Edited by: Takseen on 20/06/2010 23:33:38 Oh a Gallente mission, that explains why I've not come across it.
Its an elite frigate so its going to have silly resists and be hard to hit for a newer pilot. Maybe try a web in your 2nd midslot to up your hitchance a bit?
http://eve.grismar.net/rats/index.php shows he's got pretty solid EM and thermal resists too. If you're still struggling you could try Multifrequency ammo to up your laser damage, or hop into a missile frig and use kinetic ammo on him maybe.

There's no "T1 missions" but there are missions where you in T1 are put against T2 "elite" NPCs. It's very possible you'll take a lot to kill them. - Auditing & consulting

When I refer to T1 missions I mean level one agent missions.
But I'm guessing that in this case it is actually a level 2 agent type NPC that I need to kill then. Guess i'll just have to get a diferent mission...
I'm having truble imagening how frigates take on bigger ships for ransom though with such little damage.. sigh o well

Frigates usually ransom big ships by tackling them and threatening to call their friends with big guns to kill the ransomed ship if he doesn't pay.
As for your mission, you should realise that while you are using a tech 1 frigate and that's fine, you're also using the weakest tech 1 frig. There's sort of a tier system in place, with the executioner at the bottom and (I think) the Inquisitor and the Punisher at the top. Both of em could do a lot more dps than your current ship with their extra highslots. Having to fight a solitary elite frigate isn't really that unbalanced for a level 1 mission, you just need to get better skills or a better tech 1 frig.

It took me a few weeks to discover what a drone was and did most of the first half of the soe epic arc without them in a gallente frigate.
I also was frustrated the first day of playing when I couldn't seem to do the first lvl 1s ...I asked in help and they said I should get out of my noob ship with one civilian gun and a mining laser ! (actually the gallente noob ship has a drone bay, but like I said that was weeks later)

Get a punisher (50% dps increase over your exec, and wayyyy more tank), save for an arbitrator (only good amarrian T1 cruiser). IIRC, the new-player missions should hand you a t3 frigate of your race, so getting a punisher should not be a problem.

This will solve all your problems. If it doesn't, fit one damage mod in the lows.

You would be surprised exactly how easily a Velator popping out two light drones and kiting does L1 missions. For added lol's it'll fit a 125mm Railgun ;)

I have a velator with only civilian mods for my l1's
fun fact: you need very good skills and a +1 implant to fit 2 civ blasters to your velator, also civ hobbies are hard to come by. ------------------------------------- I like to fly around and shoot stuff. |

No tutorial is going to give out a t3 frig (when did they get put in the game anyways?). As for the OP not being able to do a L1 mission, no offense but your skills and ships choice still suck.

Its almost like in the context of this conversation t3 blatantly means "tier 3"

The one time I had trouble in a mission killing the "boss", I went and bought a little faction ammo.

He has that.
The problem is he has the wrong kind.
The only laser ammo you really need is multifrequency (the closest range, highest damage), standard (the middle range, lowest capacitor cost), and maybe something in between if multifrequency kills your capacitor too fast.
