Hello.
I am looking for a good solo PvP fit for the Pilgrim, while flying in low-sec (only attacking in belts or flashies at gates).
Here is my current fit:
Beta Reactor Control: Reaction Control I Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I - 10MN Afterburner II Warp Scrambler II Balmer Series Tracking Disrupter I Balmer Series Tracking Disrupter I - Covert Ops Cloaking Device II Medium Energy Neutralizer II Medium Energy Neutralizer II 5W Inf. Power System Malfunction - Medium Tracking Diagnostic Subroutines I Medium Tracking Diagnostic Subroutines I - 7 x Hammerhead II 6 x Warrior II 5 x Vespa EC-600

Edited by: Rouge Drone on 21/06/2010 22:59:51 Most npcers use caldari ships with missiles so tracking disruptors are sometimes of questionable usefulness and em drones are a good idea. You really need a 20k point if want to catch targets on gates too.
1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Small Armor Repairer II
10MN MicroWarpdrive II Warp Disruptor II Stasis Webifier II Small Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Navy Cap Booster 400 Tracking Disruptor II
Medium Energy Neutralizer II Medium Energy Neutralizer II Covert Ops Cloaking Device II Probe launcher / scavenger / heat sink
Infiltrator II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Warrior II x5 Hornet EC-300 x5
I don't have any experience with the ship but think that something like that would be much better.

1. I would never fight at gates with my Pilgrim 2. I would never engage a Drake (It's buffer would be massive - Tracking Dis. Wouldn't work (as you say) - Neuts wouldn't keep him from hitting me. I think I'm being baited. If so, good job.

Really? I'm rather doubtful of that. Many? Sure. Most? Doubtful.

Why the hell are you gate camping in a Pilgrim? There are ships for that. This isn't one of them.
You pick off stragglers and small groups. You don't camp gates.

The lack of experience shows.
Basic tricks to fitting and flying a Pilgrim: Recon V, excellent cap skills, and the ability to sneak up on unwary targets that don't fire missiles and preferably rely on cap for both gank and tank. Then you nuke them to Hades and back.
Usually that doesn't imply a gate camp. Just saying.

If you're going belt-pirating in your pilgrim you gotta be very careful because:
1) Astroid decloak, often if you warp in @ 10 or 20 to get a look at the situation you'll get decloaked by ****ing astroids...And if the guy's not a total idiot you'll be kited to death and forever stuck in the astroid field.
2) Bait and traps....i always carry a set of ECM drones on my pilgrim, could save your ship if you need to have a chance to get out.
3) Astroid decloak.
4) More astroid decloak.
That about sums it up...

I'd use a web, ditch one tracking disruptor, ditch the the rigs and replace them with trimarks.
Tracking disruptors won't help a diddly doo against missiles and drones, and with the web, and a very tight orbit...you should be able to mitigate most bc turret damage.
Also, i'd sacrifice maybe 1 trimark for an ancilliary current router and replace the RCU with a thermic hardner or a repper if possible.

I didn't say anything about gate camping but he said himself that he wants to fight reds at gates. It's not uncommon to meet targets of opportunity as you jump through low sec and if the fight isn't consensual it's going to occur at jump decloak where it is very unlikely that you'll be within scrambler range. You can't always count on being able to sneak up on a belter before he decides to warp out or you bump into an asteroid either.
The ability to rapidly lock and point at 20k is essential to any kind of low sec piracy. I would even consider a sensor booster.

Pilgrim is a top ship I have found, and quite nice and solid.. Its main issue is that its slow and heavy so getting in close can cause some problems, roids also uncloak you at most unfortunate times.
