Question: What happens when a poorly equipped, uncoordinate, undisciplined, blob whose tactics are frequently little more than "jump in whatever you have fitted and go, go, go" attempt to do battle with a very well equipped, highly corridinated, disciplined fighting unit with well thought out and executed tactics?
Answer: Repeated, humiliating kiester pounding for the mob.
No, I'm not talking the 7-0 face **** of PRK by Portugal at the World Cup.
I'm talking prison shower and Minmatar Militia keeps dropping the soap... over and over and over. No, no... not tiny members, not average sized, and not even John Holmes. They're wielding members the size of those impossibly giant toy dongs behind the counter at the adult book store.
We go into a plex they are running down. They sit out of our range and we go pop, pop, pop, pop, let's bail, pop, pop...
We're trying to hold a plex, they come in and we go pop, pop, pop, pop, pop, hey, let's bail, pop, pop, pop...
What was it this morning, 10 battleships lossed and one killed?

I will say this about the PERVS (and yes, I will keep it civil :P), they know how to fight in plexes. They may not be much for roams or fleet vs fleet engagements, but they are very skillfull in the gank. Plex fighting is what they live for. They're not unbeatable in the least - you just can't go at them piecemeal.

i like the idea though to bring the ferraris while the mintards stand there mouth open and watch this beauties without knowing that those exited.
just check the kb and you see their failfits lol.
hey minnis, there are more modules than meta 0 bigger ships than thrashers! i know you can't afford them but they exist!

Most of the good/great Matari Militia pilots don't give a **** about plexing, and so are never there to kill the pervs. If they realized that some good PVP was to be had in plexes, things would change. -- "Far be it from me to stand in judgment. I prefer to sit." -Stephen Colbert |

Unfortunatly wife's alarm goes off at 4:30AM and kids are up making noise shortly after that, which would leave me about 4 hours sleep if I ran with the late night fleet very often.
The 4:30AM DOES align well with EVE downtime though, giving me about 3 hours play time before I have to get ready for work.
Yeah, few of us care about plexes, but we're after PVP. If the targets are in a plex, we have to go in if we want a fight. Then we die in bunches.

Minmatar have always been lax in the EU time zone and during your typical after DT plex rushes. Most of the Minmatar PVP gangs are US time zone at least that's how it always was when I was doing FW every day.
Added to that most of the PVPers ignore the plexes entirely as typically the plexers on either side just run off if anyone challenges them.
It's a bit silly though to be pounding your chest about beating a bunch of random players as a organized corp in FW. Organized corps will almost always do better than random noobs jumping in a random gang with no planning.

1) Pervs are very good pvp'ers, in or out of plexxes.
2) They will only fight when they know they will win.
Think they are the ones that killed me the most out of all the Caldari when they were around oms :)

Meh... I have no real opinion of Pervs as I have yet to actually engage them. All I ever see them do is plex and dock up when my buddies and I start roaming around. _______________________

Oh please, we got medals long before Caldari did when (against all odd) we managed to repair what CCP broke with their bunkers made of rice-paper and systems needing just a handful of plexes to flip .. quite hilarious in the "old days"

That is the impression I am getting as well. I got in on the BS slugout in the OP and it was fewer numbers but better ships as far as I could tell, actually rather good at what they do.
I this highlights anything then it is that FW's broken state cannot be solved by adding incentives, removing NPCs or any other tweak/polish of the current system. When a single small/medium sized corp can effectively "win" a war between empires then something is amiss and it should prompt a complete overhaul of the system. We have seen it several times already with the EM corps, TOXIN, RKK, -DARK etc. Forces that were so coherent/large that opposing rabble has no chance in a fight so loose any plex that might be the subject of said fight ..... solve this and FW has a chance of being all it can be.

Edited by: Seraph Castillon on 23/06/2010 09:10:05 You shouldn't trying to "nerf" a coherent group if that's what you're saying. In most games smaller, organised and experienced group can achieve alot when facing larger, more chaotic groups of (newer) players. What should happen is that some sort of incentive is added to insure that players don't keep lingering in militia NPC corps but find their way to those organised groups on their side or form their own.
Faction warface in it's nature is kind of screwed up that way. It's meant for newer players who are finding their way in the game. So naturaly if a bunch of vets gets in the mix and has little opposition "of their own level" things can get pretty one sided.

Seems some think the OP is from a perv bragging. Nope. I'm the alt of a FW player, lamenting our inability to pull our collective heads out of our collective smelly place and do something about these guys.
Positive encouragement has done nothing, so it is time for some public shame to see if that can motivate people.
True, we don't care about plexing since there is no reward or punishment for taking or losing systems. It is all about getting the fights. And we're getting the fights. We just keep losing.
Finally, FW is not about "new" players. It is a bunch of people that want lots of pew pew, but to get it without the hastle and politics that goes with being in a 0.0 mega alliance. Free war dec with every corp in the two opposing empires... Woot!
We're getting the pew pew. Unfortuantly, much of it recently has ended with exploding Minmatar ships and the WT's looting and salvaging our wrecks.

Goddess no, wouldn't make sense as the militias make an excellent recruiting office for corporations prior to unleashing themselves elsewhere.
What I would like is for mechanics to account for the chaotic nature of militia's so that the occupancy war is more even regardless of one side having a high-sp/isk group of players working in unison. There should be room for all tiers of characters in the rabble that is the militia's .. most of us are in it for the PvP and it can be quite boring when/if what the OP describes keeps happening time and time again. Best fights are those that cost both sides dearly and evolve into who gets control of a wreckage field rather than a plex (My opinion obviously)
As a training tool for gang/fleet PvP, factional warfare has proven to be quite extraordinary at time. The shrill sound of a +5.0 sec. status carebear as he gets his very first killmail in years is glorious as is his attempt to describe the 200bpm pulse he has afterwards

So Minmatar militia are no real people but some CCP's programmed NPCs? Anyway, no PERVS alt has posted in this thread, just so you know.
Also, it's not like bulk of the PERVS plex that much anyway now. Fights stopped coming and people went to do other stuff.
