Edited by: JeanMichel Bizarre on 26/06/2010 18:18:59 Edited by: JeanMichel Bizarre on 26/06/2010 18:18:46 Ever since TQ moved to the new server location, my mouse cursor has been flickering. When I move my mouse, the cursor flickers. It's like it disappears and reappears very rapidly, in a fraction of a second... you know, like a flicker.
It may not be game breaking but it's very distracting.
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
in between
- "update your drivers" - I have
- windows aero - it's the same with aero off

I'm also experiencing this problem. Windows 7, GeForce GTS 250 with latest drivers. Cursor flickers when moving the mouse and the screen also flickers a bit while cursor in movement.

Same issue here.
Whenever I move the cursor around, FPS drops precipitously along with the aforementioned flickering. I could deal with the flickering if it didn't drop the framerate down to nothing, which is the real problem.
This started directly following the cluster move.
Win7 x86/nVidia 9800GTX/MS SideWinder X5 mouse
All drivers updated. Tried clearing cache and also just reinstalled client completely and no change.

same here. Installed latest driver and my mouse flickers. Not sure about frame rate but it's annoying as hell when I have to wait a sec to see where my mouse is at.
Had to roll back eventually. --------------------------------------

Rollback on your video card driver? Did that work? Do you happen to have the latest nVidia driver package?

This might be the case as I remember updating the nvidia drivers about the same time I first noticed this. And sadly, I can confirm the mouse pointer flickering is accompanied by insane fps drops - 60 to 4 or 5 over a few seconds.
I'll roll back to an older version of nvidia's drivers and update on my situation. ------

Edited by: Alto Hopix on 28/06/2010 11:14:40 'Roll Back Driver' is disabled for me so I'll try simply reinstalling a previous driver. Hopefully this will work.
And do we all have Nvidia GPUs?

I do, and I didn't use the roll back driver option. I just uninstalled it and installed what I had before. Everything seems to be fine now. ------

Same here. I've reinstalled the drivers for March, seems to have done the trick.

Thanks for the confirmation, everyone. Glad to know there is a fix, which I will try when I get home from work today.
Here is the link to the problematic driver package I had installed from nVidia's website: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-257.21-whql-driver.html Version: 257.21 WHQL Release Date: 2010.06.15 Operating System: Windows 7, Windows Vista Language: English (U.S.) File Size: 94.7 MB

Issue resolved.
I rolled back to this version and it works flawlessly: http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7_winvista_32bit_197.45_whql.html Version: 197.45 WHQL Release Date: 2010.04.13 Operating System: Windows Vista, Windows 7 Language: English (U.S.) File Size: 89.5 MB
Getting the normal 60-100+ FPS readings from CTRL-F window ingame with no cursor-flicker.
I imagine this problem will continue to surface as people try and update to the latest nVidia driver package mentioned in the previous post. Hopefully the issue is addressed in the next driver rollout.
Doubt this will get stickied, but is definitely worth doing so.

I hate that I'm having to run older drivers to not have a flickery mouse. This couldn't be more irritating. >_<
I'd think that this game (being one of the more popular MMO's) would have been tested prior to driver release.
I'm also on a notebook running Win7 / NVIDIA GT 9600M.

I noticed this today too. I just did a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional X64 today. Radeon HD 4870 1GB. All latest drivers and updates.
The exact same issue as described. When the mouse moves the cursor disappears and while it is gone the frame rate drops from 60 (vsync on) to about 4 or 5 FPS.
I use a Logitech G9x with the latest setpoint software. Allowing setpoint drivers to handle mouse instead of native OS drivers.

SOLUTION!
Yesterday i installed the ATI 10.8 drivers and got the same problem with the mouse. Today I installed the ATI 10.9 drivers and the problem is fixed....seems those 10.8 drivers were buggy. Hope this helps.
