It is given we have crews in our ships. They must be payed something so what I am trying to discover is how much is 1 ISK worth to an NPC character. So I guess I am trying to figure out what would a crew member of our ship think if you gave them 1 ISK, how much is it worth to them.
(I have read something a long time ago during a tournament. It was a news item or something where they interviewed a crew person. They were risking thier life because they could make alot of money. However I am pretty sure they were not payed in isk.)

So, you know that "quafe calculation"
1Unit of Quafe is 500kg, but only 100Litres! (Volume 0.1m¦) which means the litre = 1$ and 0.1 ISK is kind of wrong. Think of it: How is Coke sold to Fast Food Vendors nowadays?
Its a powder or concentrated liquid that gets mixed with water. So....it would be FAR MORE than 10:1 ratio.

Edited by: Jagga Spikes on 27/06/2010 12:30:40 don't bother. depending on what is used for comparison, it will vary from 1,000 ISK for $1 to $1,000 for 1 ISK. ________________________________ : Forum Bore 'Em : Foamy The Squirrel - [jedi handwave] "There is no spoon." |

To put in my 2 cents, i've read somewhere that an average family in the empires could make 15.000 isk in a lifetime. If someone does find this somewhere in the Eve backstory, please link.

Lets say it like this...you can buy a full basic industerial planet base including extractors, factories and transport methods(including a launchpad to bring stuff into orbit) along with crew quarters, crew and any food and equipment they might need to make the damn thing self sustainble for 81000.05 Isk. ________________________________________________ Tau - Yeah we suck in close combat. This is correct. I also can't find the specific reference, but something as small as a few thousand ISK is enough for most families to survive a number of years in relative comfort on most settled planets. You should generally think of any capsuleer as wealthy and powerful beyond the wildest dreams of 99.9% of the entire population of the galaxy. Wasnt there a chronicle about somebody working in a capsuleer bar as a bartender. He owned a huge island and mansion on the planet below because of the silly high tips the pilots gave? ________________________________________________ Tau - Yeah we suck in close combat. " To put in my 2 cents, i've read somewhere that an average family in the empires could make 15.000 isk in a lifetime. If someone does find this somewhere in the Eve backstory, please link." I believe the reference was something like it takes an average family a lifetime to buy a shuttle. Which at the time was around 15,000 isk.
As for quafe it could always be that the price pod pilots pay for it is way higher then what the average person pays. You have to assume companies will overcharge pod pilots. Rich people dont tend to notice or care if a drink they are buying is 200% higher than market price.

I would, repectfully, disagree. Rich people do notice when they are being ripped off and don't like it. That's how they stay rich.
Of course paying top dollar for quality goods is another matter indeed. I doubt this would apply to a mass market item like Quafe though. Regards,

A bartender in Jita, who had the chance to serve a daytrader who had just made a few billion ISK. The bartender got a few thousand ISK or so as tip.
Edit: Remembered it a bit wrong. Source.

I'm a bit late answer for this thread but it depends entirely on rich person in question for example that was an article about Paris Hilton having good time in the local restaurant drinking 16000 dollars worth of champagne ... Now unless she bought cheap champagne by the bottle for everyone including the employees I think someone did got ripped off and liked it. Rich = I don't care what I spend because I make so much money, if still care how much money you spend when you make millions a day something is very wrong with you.
