From the patch notes Mac section:
- When a player changes the shader setting to low, it will no longer encounter flickering and transparency issues on models.
- The customs office will no longer turn pink when zooming in and out.
Really? That's it? You can't even fix the crash reporter to upload crash reports to the right place? Or address the buffer overrun crash on exit? Or the much reported random exits while doing PI stuff? Or the annoying bugs like the sticky ctrl key that was reported fixed but actually wasn't?
Please tell us there's more Mac-specific stability/usability fixes in that just didn't make the patch notes.

Edited by: Rahaer on 28/06/2010 17:41:12 Well actually, there have been two new additions:
--The crash reporter will no longer error out when attempting to report your crash.
--The log off button on the ESC menu will now work as it should without crashing your client and attempting to launch the crash report tool.
And the first one is now delayed until another expansion
Edit for spelling -----

Hi,
The patch notes published are not the final ones for 1.0.2. In this patch we closed over 200 defects (some of which internal only) so there will be more patch notes to come. For the mac, the following issues were resolved:
The customs office will no longer turn pink when zooming in and out. The log off button on the ESC menu will no longer crash your client. The crash reporter will no longer error out when attempting to report your crash.
If you have more information on "random exits while doing PI stuff" and the "sticky ctrl key", please file a bug report and we will look into it.

Thank you for an update Casqade.
Regarding the sticky modifier key problem. It's the same problem that was addressed previously (with, IIRC, Tyr 1.0). While with that release things got much better, it still happens. Basically heavy use of modifier keys like shift and ctrl will cause them to stick and act as if they remain pressed. It's most noticeable on the overview when you do a lot of targeting like when salvaging a wreck field in a mission. It seems to happen more frequently if you leave ctrl pressed for a few seconds. You'll notice, for example, that something that has left your overview is still listed but "greyed out". Until you tap ctrl again and unstick it. It is also very noticeable when it's stuck and you happen to type a word in chat that contains a "q" Several people in this forum have posted about this still being an issue.
Regarding the PI issue, I get a variety of problems that are not reproducible but happen frequently. Usually while switching planet view from planet to planet via the Science & Industry window. I will either get a cider seg fault (and the apple crash reporter sends it to apple) or eve will just exit entirely.
If you have any suggestions on how to gather data for these not-easily-reproduced bugs, please let me know what we can do to help.

This bug happens with all shader settings, not just low! (iMac 8,1, ATI radeon 2600 pro)

Turning LOD/SHader to either off or low fixed the problem for me with a few exceptions
1) Catalyst (and only this ship) has a weird bug where the flat section (not the pods) are either 2000M long (stretched out) or the flat section is bouncing on a rotational 90% axis repeatedly or that section is simply not present at all.
2) Some larger structures (in caldari space) are have patches of transparent areas where the model appears to be broken.
3) Logging off sometimes produces a 'buffer overrun' dialogue.
Random but infrequent crashes when browsing t'internets in external browser (mostly youtube - possible wrongness with jquery doodad?).

This is a driver issue on ATI cards and the workaround is to enable shadows. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid that you just have to sit tight and wait for a driver update from ATI.

"The crash reporter will no longer error out when attempting to report your crash."
Yeah, but Transgaming's servers fail to accept the report.
"The log off button on the ESC menu will now work as it should without crashing your client and attempting to launch the crash report tool."
Umm, no. ESC/logoff still crashes the client occasionally, with the Cider buffer overrun. This is why I know about the Transgaming server fail. I have been unable to find a repeatable sequence of actions, however.

Fix the Crash Reporter.. Still does not work... Once that works, then valid crash data can possibly be collected. In the back of my mind there is a little voice that is saying "Well, the crash reporter is showing almost no issues... Must be working well!"
CCP; squish that lil voice, fix the crash reporter and then we can get valid crash data... This is just like the phone company publishing a trouble line to call into when your phone does not work... "Hey boys; I don't think anyone is having issues, our trouble desk phone is silent! We rock!!"

My main complaint now since the patch is that some of the graphics have disappeared. An example is on the login screen. Normally you see the glow around the planet, but since the patch I have not seen that anymore. In gameplay I noticed that you can no longer see when your shields are active or when you are firing at something. Also with mining I cannot see the lasers from it.
Funny thing is when I change my shader quality to "low" I get those things back. But now the graphics are lower end and not nearly as good as it was when the shader quality is set to "high".
Sorry to complain, but this kind of stinks. I have a 3.06GHz Duo Core, 27" iMac with a ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics with 512MB. And it worked perfectly before this patch came out. So, to be brutally honest, I don't think my problems are ATI related. I'm hoping you will look into, CCP, and fix this on your next patch.
I like good gameplay, but I also like quality in graphics.
