I'm not sure if CCP has a new ship designer, or whether their original guys are getting better after years of practice but the primae is a damn fine looking ship.
Asymetry is often a bad thing in eve (not always!) with some ships looking like random connections of primatives someone threw together, almost to the point where they get in the way of suspension of disbeleif. but the Primae has restored my faith in Asymetrical ships in eve, and that eve next to such even beauties as the new scorpion they can look lovely, practical and dont make me wonder why im not flying in a circle.
Bravo on the design CCP I thank you for a wonderful free gift. ============================ 2003 and still alive! |

It does absolutely nothing, but it looks absolutely awesome so I don't care. TBH, though I'd love to see something like this used as a destroyer model maybe. it needs guns...LOTS of guns..

no doubting its a sweet looking ship but wft 100 cargo slap on some expanders and u only get 243m3 that sucks. they should have left it a salvage boat or even better make it a new vessel altogether.
me sad me wanted a free ship that could do somthing usfull

I must agree with the OP.
This is one of the most beautiful ships in all of EVE. None of the tech3 cruisers in any of their many variations look this good.

It definately looks nice, and though not one of the MOST useful ships, it does have some potential for lowsec PI activities, and makes for a decent entry level (PI only) hauler. While it only sports a 100 m3 regular cargo bay, if you right click it, you can open a 1000 m3 PI goods cargo bay or a 1600 m3 Command Center only bay. 1000 m3 is decent for a starting character who hasnt had the time or inclination to train up industrials yet.
Also, look at a few of the other characteristics:
This is a cruiser sized ship with Defensive capabilities and Mass/Agility to match, but with the addition of an only 30 m sig radius, which puts it somewhere in the lock time / targetability of a shuttle. It also has a low 300 second recharge rate on its cruiser level shields, which isnt too shabby.
With its 4 low slots, consider this basic example (Again, im not saying its a "great" ship, but it does have SOME potential):
2 Warp Core Stabilizers 1 400 mm plate 1 Medium Armor Repairer
Not only do you have the ability to pass up some basic single or double pointing pirate gangs, but you will be hard to shoot at and target to boot. Plus with the slightly expanded armor capacity and a repairer, you might just have enough time to escape.
Or consider tossing on a Damage control instead of the armor or the repper for some decent structure buffer.
Just some thoughts

It's the combination of symmetric basic shape and asymmetric additions to it that make it look good. The bad looking asymmetric ships don't have a basic symmetry at all. -------- All I want is a better mankind.

Although I have loved most of the ships in eve.
This made me think of a lego toy at first but now I can't make my mind up if it's a ripoff from Babylon 5 or from some "first manned flight to mars" movie!?

Anyone else have the urge to get a cutting torch and weld some T3 modules onto the Primae...?

Ship is useless, compare it to an Exequror with gallente cruiser at lv4, and 3 x expander II.
It holds 1741m3, sig radius is 120 and you can fit ECM, cloak, drones, rigs ect.
I would advise any newer characters to offload this crud, buy an exequror, pocket the change and spend your free skill points training for gallente cruiser.

Only if it makes the pi bay remotely usable for even a pi noob with one planet. 1000m3? Really? Is this a case of ccp misplacing a decimal point again?

IF : Primae will have planetary commodities cargo set to 10000 m3 (the actual space port capacity) or 5000 m3 [i will gladly go back twice to empty the space port on a planet with such a nice ship] = WIN
IF NOT: Primae is a big joke. and i will suicide it on New Caldari Prime orbit and then salvage it and donate in Jita the salvaged parts in a blue small cargo container. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
My Planet Express Badger Mark II has ~13000 m3 with 3 Local Cargo Extenders and the ship is much smaller in size than Primae.

If you dont want it...you can give it to me. If not, stop complaining...its free and therefore a very cost effective ship 0 cost = 100% profit...just sayin'.

Unless you use the free hauler off the tutorial missions that is several orders of magnitude moar effective and efficient. With only a 1000m3 pi bay thats gonna be a whole lotta trips back and forth to the station.

The Primae is *NOT* free. Do you realize how much isk I've lostnot gained by spinning the Primae in the hanger instead of running a level 4 or two?

Your missing the point...when all the rest are blown up, I'd have the last 2 that exist.
1) get unusable ship 2) store unusable ship 3) all others get blow'd up 4) sell last remaining unuasable ships 5) ????? 6) profit!
...simple really.

Please explain to me why anyone would undock it and so risk getting it blown up when for an hours skilling and less than a million isk they can just use an unfitted t1 hauler that beats the pants off the primea in every way past looks? Even the noobs will pass on using this one.

I do not really want to talk about the usefullness of the ship here but i have to admit that it looks awesome. Veeery "spaceshipy" and reminds me a lot off those 80is "we go out there!" sci-fi movie ships. i love it. More of it please! Outstanding work!
