Good News fellow PI peeps.
My 96-hr extractors did eventually stop after approx. 2.5 weeks. I am running a second TTD to determine if this is consistent.
Have any of you had similar findings or did you blow your extractors up?

Both. I trashed the extractors for the most valuable materials, and let the others run. They quit sometime Tuesday after the patch. I'm NOT trying 96 hr mode again. On a side note, Am I missing something, or can you really NOT upgrade your command center without completely de-colonizing your entire operation and starting from scratch?? I need more power and now have the training to use bigger CC's.

No, you really can't simply upgrade the CC. You have to wipe out the entire colony, then set everything up from scratch. Make sure you do a good survey of the resources before planting the CC, because if you locate it in a bad position you'll either end up extracting fewer resources, or wiping it out and setting it up again.

The command center has no impact on the extraction rate. The only thing it does is set the focus point when you first view the planet.

Yeah it's pretty annoying when you realize there's a better site half way around the planet and you have to rotate it to find the new extractors. Which are pretty hard to find on lava planets sometimes. -Jin Nib Trading on behalf of Opera Noir since: 2009.03.02 03:53:00

While were on the subject the Gas planet I have my site on makes trying to see links a real pain. It would be great to see some kind of colour customisation for links and structures on the planet. Making the Industry structures a different colour depending upon their tech level/schematic would be a great step forward.
