I know the developers will tend to become concerned about the convienience of PI manipulation, about the time they think the PI stuff is becomming too expensive.
But I have a Compelling Reason !!!
It would also save important server processing time!
Allow extractors and factories of identicle type to be grouped. (at least extractors)
Right click group to or ungroup just like the link to menu item.
When the units are linked their extraction tables combine. After they are set and running, they would only take the server time that a single unit would. (er, um, if they do infact take any server time, and arnt just client run things )
And mainly the user would only have to set the exractors once per resource type. Economic issues could still be addressed with resource availability.
I doubt there is anyone who appreciates having to set every dang extractor individually. Its the lose, sector of an otherwise win/win enterprise.
Its an existing Eve mechanism (in ship moduals) Plyers and programers alike are familiar with it.

1) feature forum is somewhere else 2) not that easy. "extraction tables combine" doesnt help. how to move the stuff from various extractors to the various places.? what happens if i use some extractors directly linked to factorys, and some to go trough storage to do something else? what happens now?

I mean its PI. As long as it produces enough stuff to keep the POS fueled - who cares.

Like the grouped guns, need to be loaded or unloaded, with the same ammo, they might all have to be sent to the same destination. They most usually are anyway. The different links could be checked, at the rate setting. An error message could be given if a link would be overloaded. [shrug] the particular extractor or link could pop up. or individually ungroup.
If we didnt worry about server time having to process each extractor, the different destinatiobs would not need to be a factor in an extractor group. The main function of an extractor group would be to seet all the extractors for a certain resource, to one interval.
Scan from any linked extractor and the total yields per extraction periods are shown for the group. easyer to see how many factories you need that way too.
You mean you like clicking each dang extractor each dang time you start a new cycle? or you dont PI?
Some amount of 'doing junk' leads to a feeling we have done somthing. But the repetition of each same extractor over and over? Not profitable. _______

I really do think that being able to select a group of extractors would really add to PI.
