Im tired from PLEX, learning skills, DUST whine... http://www.perpetuum-online.com/ - i found this game recently and is about robots on planet surface, and i've noticed it has very similar to eve game mechanics, almost same skill and fitting system (well, perhaps they stole the idea from eve, but does not matter ). Since DUST is console only and pretty different from eve (action shooter vs tactics-strategy, yes strategy), i think this would be great benefit for both games if CCP would consolidate with Perpetuum designers(banner says they are looking for partners!). What do you all think? perhaps someone already tested this(its in closed beta stage) - post your impressions please. And would be really good to see some dev respose, how do they see eve future, couse this one seems to fit in eve style.

Yea, this has been brought up a lot lately, and it was brought up a few months ago when the Beta was going live. It looks pretty similar to Eve, but I've heard the UI is even worse, if you can believe it. Also, I'm pretty sure that the banner saying looking for partners means something more like advertising partners and people to actually pay for their game.
However, I think a Mech Warrior, eve style, kind of game on planets could be pretty cool. However, getting Perpetuum to actually work with the Eve Cluster and the existing game would be a complicated process, basicly remaking the game except for the client. I also doubt it'll happen.

Edited by: Messoroz on 10/07/2010 20:39:56 Meh that game looks weak and the videos I've seen it's not that great.
I would rather see CCP team up with DICE for a Battlefield series game that spans a whole planet, DICE are the masters of shooters with lots of boom :D

May be not remaking of existing eve, but adding additional module with its own engine loading on planets ...

The day that my planet looks like that, is the day I give up on P.I. - not to sound like a complete fanboi, but the route CCP have planned for P.I. is the route I want to see it go...I'd just like to see it go there a little faster.

Why do I get the feeling that Perpetuum has hired people to post on here? Sort of like North Korea's supporters during the world cup.
