I am pleased to announce Splodey.net, a twitter alternative for those of us who do not wish to look at foursquare updates, and other non-eve tweets that litter the "tweetfleet". I have put together Splodey as a Eve Online dedicated Twitter-esq community site, its free to signup, and very easy to use.
It works like a charm from the In-game browser and you can be setup in under 2 minutes. Head on over to Splodey.net and check it out.

Uh... Ever heard of TweetDeck? Setup columns for #tweetfleet and #eveonline and you suddenly don't have to have ANOTHER win/app running just to follow tweets. PLUS you see tweets that you're interested in.
TweetDeck ftw!

Edited by: Blane Xero on 14/07/2010 23:44:30 Something breaks the page layout in Firefox for me (Image spills over from the container and blocks what I assume is the copyright info)
Also, nice using the background image from Eve gate. I assume you have permission?
Also, I thought I recognised this your name. Linkage. What happened to Tweveit? Rebranding it to repost it in a hope that it doesn't go by almost unnoticed again? _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

While I don't use Twitter or such "Social Media", you still get +1 for using jQuery.
The web needs more jQuery. ---

I cant seem to recreate the page/image issue you described. It works fine for me on Chrome, Firefox, and IE. If you don't mind me asking, what OS and Resolution are you using?
In regards to the background, there are several sites that use that background. No I have not explicitly asked for permission , but I am only using it temporarily until I finish the more fitting one that I am working on. --- Keldar Anassi

I'm usually not a big fan of twitter and anything like this but this actually appeals to me.
I'm probably going to give it a try!

Resolution(s): 1920*1200 & 1280*1024. Happens on both monitors.
Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Firefox 3.6.6

Ah, yeah. So just to confirm, when your ad blocker is off then the site loads correctly? Ill see about fixing the code so that doesn't happen anymore. Thanks for the help. --- Keldar Anassi

Adblock off and the page loads with everything at the correct sizes. However as noted, when the "Advertise here" bit is removed the container it is nested in gets brought up to just under where the "Advertise Here" bit is, however the image remains in place thus looking like it is spilling over ontop of the "contact us | advertise | privacy policy | terms of use Copyright ¬ 2009-2010 Splodey | A Lonetrek Web services Project" text.
I had a look at the source, but I'm afraid I have a headache otherwise I might have been able to help a bit. In short, moving the div that the image is nested in into the same div as the advertisement block then positioning it from there should work if that makes sense... _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

Yeah, I have made some changes that should allow the site to load correctly now. At least its loading fine for me (I installed ad block to recreate the issue.) --- Keldar Anassi
