Try Impressment.
Attack people in low-sec, get their ship into structure, then convo them and tell them you'll pod them unless they join your corp.

Offer the chance to join in return for a 'security deposit' so that they know you are serious....

I have been running my corp for a bit over 2 months now and in the beginning I dedicated loads of time on recruitment. Perhaps I was doing something horribly wrong, but after speaking to over a hundred people only a small bunch joined. Tried advertising on cans, advertising ingame and recently on the boards aswell, but no luck whatsoever.
I've looked over some existing corps and noticed that some younger ones are considerably larger. Makes me wonder if there are any tricks to grow your community ? I was aiming mostly for younger players who focus on PvE
Perhaps someone who has more experience in this aspect could give me a few pointers here or drop me an EVEmail ? I would be very thankful :)
Blame it on CCP. They never retouched the CEO's role in over 6 years code wise...
After that, blame yourself. It's very easy to create a 500 man corp if you really want to, but there are tradeoffs. First, you can't really take the bloody time to interview them all. Calculated how much time that takes? It'd be your second job man. Just keep on churning like CCP do, get more fresh blood in than you lose. It's a valid strategy that CCP themselves utilize, so you why not you? Don't cater for the guys already in, drum up some really nice incentive (false or not doesn't really matter) to make them join your corp.
Now to be a bit more serious, you really ought to do something inbetween, balance it off. Make sure you keep yours happy enough to stay and keep bringing in the new guys. Sooner than later you'll have a nice corp of 100-200 members. Now the hard thing starts, you gotta make sure you have this number for a year or two. It can be done. You can keep growing, and when enough time has passed, your members will have enough skill points and know-how to matter a damn.
Good luck.

The secret rules of growing big are as follows
1. Recruit everything 2. NAP everything in 50 jumps 3. Create propaganda that makes no sense and irrelevant to anything todo with you 4. Brag about how you killed a shuttle on CAOD 5. Lose a supercap 6. Take credit for everyone else work 7. Moan about lag 8. Macro rat 9. Be affiliated with NC / SC / DC in some way 10. Say u mad every 6 seconds, even to your cat --

There is no efficient recruitment - there is only recruitment. You will burn yourself out if you worry about it too much. As a new corp you should think about recruiting few but reliable members at first. Then consider merging with other corps. Be paranoid and keep corp assets safe, as well as your own.

If you see new corps with large numbers, assume it is trials that will never be active. Fudged numbers are the bread and butter of many corp profiles. Even in big corps having 25 or more people on at once is rare and exclusive to old and worn in alliances.
Look for quality and open a Public recruitment channel, put it in your Bio. If I am looking for a corp, that is my first check point. To see if there is a diplo on in a public channel. |

You first want players who understand the mechanics of this game. This way they can teach and aide in helping the younger ones you are going for. Biomass is free (of) Eve4life! |
