Greetings,
We have a WH POS under attack and it is currently in Strontium tank mode. We cannot online the hanger arrays to get blueprints etc out. Apparently, even if the attack were to cease, we would have to rep the POS back up to 50% to online the array. While it is "offline" we cannot access the items to evac them.
Can we unanchor it to empty its contents? What about destroying it before the stront tank runs out? Basiclly... how do we open it and get the goods and run

You cant unanchor it either I'm afraid, it wont let you do so with item in the hanger and you cant destroy the hanger because its in the POS force field.
Only way you can get the BPOs out is to get the tower shields above 50% after it drops out of reinforced mode.

Off-lining hangars is not a suggested tactic.
I'm afraid you are rather boned.
Sorry.

If the shields of the POS drop can we destroy the hanger ourselves to prevent the spoils of war going to the other? And would it per chance drop a cargo container or is it bye bye forever? |

I think it is safe to say that any pilots would be next on the list to get blown up so it is doubtfull you can blow that up in time unless you have vast numbers in which case you might as well fight back.

Most of the stuff won't drop. Just try repping the shields yourself. A cheap osprey with 2 Large Shield Transporters will take a while but it can pump out enough to get you there if they don't go for it again :) Make sure to rep your defences first and have a PoS gunner ready to unload some ammo at the enemy.
If you get 5-10 of them and sit outside the PoS it should take a lot less time to rep them. Got to wait till it comes out of reinforce but it should work. PSBADPUP > I was trying to salvage a minmatar wreck for 10 minutes, until he started firing at me.

I'm not sure if possible, but if you can access the stront tank, empty it and reinforced will end quite fast, that might give you time to handle your hangaror blow it up. ========================== Nothing is true, everything is permitted. ========================== |

It is not possible to modify the amount of strontium in a tower's stront bay once the tower's shield HP drops below 50%.
These guys are totally boned. All they can do is pray the guys who reffed the POS don't bother to come back.
However, since they posted here, the people who reffed their POS might well know there are some valuable BPOs in that POS, and that would certainly encourage them to return. -- Killed me? Read about it in my blog! Northern Lights: Solo PVP in EVE Online

The one thing I know you can do is hang more guns on the pos to use in its defense when it comes online again. You can either choose to defend the pos or give it up, those are basically your choices, as I understand it.

Well I'm no expert at POS mechancis but howabout these two things
I'm assuming you cannot shoot the tower if you are inside the shield yourself, because that would be stupid right, like the same reason why you cannot shoot out from inside a shield.
So, I suggest the following, destroy the tower yourself. If you cannot do it while the tower is in reinforced from inside the shield, then pray to God the enemy is not around at the hour when the tower comes out of reinforced, and get your buddies together to blow up the tower. It will be faster than fixing the shield, and that way you can just grab the labs.
I don't know if you can access the storage in them in that state, I don't know if you will be able to grab them if there are bpos inside not in job slots, but as far as I know, if there are jobs installed and you unanchor a lab where the job is happening, the job will pause, the bpo will remain inside and you can move the lab, and onlining it again where ever, will resume the job. This might be wrong, but I've heard about something like this, so have it confirmed.
If all goes well, you get the tower popped before the enemies, you get the labs with the prints / active jobs and you get out.
Wors case scenario is, you blew up your own tower, didn't get the prints and your labs are stuck. Then you just shoot the labs and take it like a man. At least that way the enemy doesn't get anything but a WTF moment.
Just an idea.

get a couple of ospreys and rep it all night
i think that's your best bet
once it comes out of reinforced, refill the stront bay immediately. repeat until they get bored and leave

Wont work. Cannot target a reinforced POS thus cannot remote rep it.
Also to the OP When a tower comes out of reinforced mode and is destroyed ... the contents of unanchored structures by the enemy is lost 100%. Same goes for if you offlined the tower and shoot the structures.
So unless you make a deal with them .. or get a force large enough to protect it .. the pos and its contents are gone forever.

While the tower is reinforced, neither the attacker nor the defender can touch it. This is intentional as it essentially gives the defenders a "pause button" to get ready. As others already noted, you will only be able to fix the POS when the timer ends. Your options basically are:
Repair the shields to above 50%. At that moment the POS enters normal mode again, i.e. you can online/offline stuff, take items out of hangars, refill the strontium bay, or even unanchor the tower itself if you want. I am not sure why everyone talks about Ospreys, this is definitely a job you want dedicated logistics (Basilisk, Stilleto) or even carriers for. You don't mention what class WH this is, so the latter might not be a possibility.
Destroy the tower yourself. You will be able to blow up the structures and get a certain chance (I believe 50%) to get anything inside to drop. You can also unanchor any defenses and move them elsewhere.
Given that this is a WH POS, you have an additional layer of defense at hand. Unless the attacking fleet is logged off in the system, they will have to scout out the entrance again. If you do not have any statics to K-space, simply collapse any K-space exit you find, and make them work for it. If there is a K-space static, at least try to collapse it over and over until it goes to som crazy backwater system in the middle of nowhere, or at least isolateed hisec (if it's a hisec exit).

if they've left the system, weight crash every wormhole in the system with plated battleships. if you can't do that, wormholes only last so long, by the time the tower comes out of reinforced, they won't have a way in.
if they did a log-off and have scanner support, your tower is done, unless you can pop their scanner and offer them a way out if they leave the pos alone.
i don't know why (or when) CCP changed the rule on corp hangars to where you can't pull stuff out when it's offline. you use to be able to.

Posting here was the worst mistake you possibly could have made. Now the guys that reinforced your tower know that the hangar has valuable BPOs, and will be back for sure to finish your tower off. Best bet now is to give NMG a call. It's not piracy, its surprise PVP. |

...there will always be someone who is able to break your defences ... you shouldnt put up a POS if you are clueless about how to manage one would be better advice imho.
I've been in a WH with 3 ppl, all indy, with a POS. You can't defend a POS with 4 people, but you CAN run it without too much consequences if you get attacked, if you have a sound plan on how to proceed in certain situations.
In this case it looks like the OP thought a WH would be safe enough to not bother reading up and asking advice BEFORE they ventured into the WH. ========================== Nothing is true, everything is permitted. ========================== |
