Unless it's specifically CCP's mistake then you might but "frozen screen" sounds like a crashing PC, connection issues, internet tubes being clogged or something similar. The chance that it happened because of something that happened AT CCP is quite slim, I wouldn't even bother petitioning.

In my experience unless CCP can prove there was an error on their behalf you will not get an reimbursement.
Begs the question where do CCP get their magical logs from and again throws into the debate of the shocking support we are recieving at the moment.
Even with the SC invasion into the north and much lag servers didnt record any errors which i think is **** poor tbh!

i can live with the isk loss, np (ccp needs isk more then me, I assume :)
Id have NO prob if its been to PVP (i pvp daily, with rarely losses).. but its just a bugger i also lose lvl5 skills' beacuse of frezing client is unfair-bugger.
reason I ask this time, is NO responce .. and last 2 clint-mishap losses just gotten ignored by support.
Losing in fight is okay and can be sad if outnumber ..but hell its a game :) stuck screen? i dont sence its "ingame" action
*my computer run upto 4accounts excl brakets .. today only 2 acc.
I checked, according to my isp-log nothing went wrong (no disconnection during/today)

They do, but they do not show anything to warrant a reimbursement. I wish people would stop butchering this statement _____________________________________ Haruhiist since December 2008

I once lost a Tengu in a level 4 mission because of a freeze in a special pirate mission pocket. But that was a confirmed bug which was fixed with the next expansion. Got that Tengu back within 1-2 weeks with the right modules (although even the killmail was totally screwed up and was not showing the fitting). Didn't lose any SP though, not sure if they replace SP, even if you qualify for reimbursement.

internet tubes being clogged????
sounds like a complete billshut [see what i did there?]
the eve client is far too sensitive to "errors" on the internet, better use of the inbuilt mechanisms with tcp/ip can remove quite a few of the errors that people seem to just accept as inherent to using the internet, when really its just bad quality.

The problem is, if your PC did crash, CCP has absolutely no way of verifying that. All they can verify is that you were flying a ship and that it was blown up while you were flying it. They might keep activity logs (ie Last known action was committed 5 minutes before you logged off and after being blown up you just sat there for 2 minutes) but that still wouldn't be sufficient, and they have no way of knowing if it was a client error, or if you pulled your ethernet cable, or if it was because you had your case open and ****ed on the motherboard or what.
There is very little that CCP can do to verify that your loss was their fault. -------------------------------------------------- Learning skills are an ultimatum, not a choice. |

TBH ive found that as long as your polite, give accurate and complete details of all your actions instead of just saying "lagged and died screw you CCP". And as long as it wasnt a problem like "computer crashed" they are generally pretty good about reimbursement. |

Is it true that if you eject from a T3 before it 'splodes, you don't lose a skill level?

I lost a BlackBird in Empire once in a nowhere system cause I came across some enemy red. All I remember is waking up to the sound of my ship exploding. (Yes, I was fast asleep... Snoreeeeeeeeee...)

The server logs are not very thorough so even if it was the server that caused the problem, the GM's will most likely just tell copy/paste response you for a week then finally look into it for real and tell you no because the logs don't show anything (even if the data is completely jacked, like your pod dies before your ship or something) and make you want to send a boxed fart to Iceland.

Entering deadspace (missions or sites) will often lock up and crash the client since Apocrypha was released. It almost never happened before that, now it's pretty constant. I usually will have the client die a couple times a session when activating warp gates lately.
