Edited by: Neliel Soifon on 24/07/2010 21:33:57 Come on it's ridiculous! We have spaceships and all incredible technologies, but we can't accept mission remotely or destroy jump clones remotely.
An agent can contact us with all the informations, details, places, and whatnot, but we can't say yes or no if we are not docked in the same station?? (Note that we are always in the ship, so, what's the difference?!)
Not talking about a "phone call" to a medical center to say "yo man, i don't need that body anymore, trash it". Like in order to booking a room i must go to the hotel and then if i don't need it anymore i must go there again and tell them "hey man i can't come here, so cancel my room"
ridiculous.

Because like most burocrasys they are hanging on to the grossly outdated and in fact useless idea that a signature made in person has some special meaning.

I totally agree. I remember thinking that in the first days of playing. OMFG flying in my awesome civilian fitted Merlin blowing **** up, mission complete let's talk to my agent to tell him it's completed and get another...oh wait..have to "finalize" some "contract" that requires me to be there in person...when I am talking to them right now...ooook then.

One time my agent made me fax in the secret reports, and it was a real pain finding a fax in new eden :(
Actually tho, there is a mission where your agent talks about why you have to accept missions in person. Not that anyone reads mission text, lulz.

In person, because the empires can and do intercept electronic communications.

You don't do that in person, you are still in your pod and in your ship, just docked in the same station.
And btw, even if we want to use imagination and think about leaving the ship, we already received all the info in our journal, all the info were already sent in an electronic form, for anyone to be intercepted, so... it's useless, the only thing we cannot do is just to say "yes" or "no".
And btw: what about jump clones??

going somewhere "in person" is also a huge joke with cloning technology around.

When I started playing you could remotely accept a mission. But this nice feature was being exploited by some people, so it was removed.

Edited by: ChrisIsherwood on 26/07/2010 05:15:56 Not just clones.
The game load would infinitesimally lighter if i could remotely stack-all and trash modules e.g. the stray IBIS

Remotely trashing items from Corporation Impounded Assets. A three pages long list of shuttles, pods, noobships and ammo, a good quarter of which we can no longer even get to, just sitting there. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |
